It had been a very long time since I visited the Allesley House take away. Having been a local and a regular many years ago, now I am local once again I wanted to see if it was still any good.
The reviews were good, the 5 star hygiene status also reassured me it was in good hands.
We ordered similar food to what we would normally have to compare plus some nice things. We were very impressed with the potion sizes, the price and the flavours were beautiful.
Their curry sauce was much nicer than normal, it wasn't the same flavour as a easily available shop bought sauce. 1 item that we did love was the szechuan chips, they were new to us but we really liked them, spicy with green chillies and other spices.
Great service, it is cash on collection. They don't offer a delivery service. Nice to know it is the same family running it from when I used to go there some 20 plus years ago.
Always had fabulous tasting food - never had any problems in the many years we have been buying from here.
Service always been great - polite and very efficient and fast.

Daughter came to visit from abroad for a few weeks and first day back today and she wanted Allesley House take away . It was delicious. Never disappoints.
My family loves the food, well cooked and delicious can never fault the chefs. Whatever you order best believe it will be delicious π π. The guys who take orders could be more friendly,however nomatter the rude cashier that never stops me from ordering. I drive all the way from Bell Green like a 25 minutes drive and it is worth it. Viewed the menu, lots of choice, called and placed order. It was Friday evening and never expected there to be so many people waiting. Bit of a chat with locals then called. Beef chow main, chicken, rice and sweet and sour dish.
We had a chat with my partner and both enjoyed the meal. There good helpings, no bad taste and empty plate. My first time there and would surely return again. Been again, crispy duck with plum sauce, beef with fresh ginger, onion, crispy duck chow mein.
Really nice food, looked very appetising and fresh and not overcooked.
Portion size was good.
Take away was hot when I arrived to pick up the order.
Would of been 5 stars but the vegetable spring roll was mainly beansprouts and not much else.
Lots of vegetarian choices.

A good local Chinese, always busy but offer quick and friendly service. The food is good and the flavour of their curries are so much better than the generic curries you get in lot of of Chinese takeaways nowadays. The rating would have been 5 stars but the chips were over cooked on both occasions I visited. I will be going back. π
Visited recently during the lockdown, can now collect at the door which is really handy. Food was very tasty, large portions. Best in Coventry by far! Thanks all π

Been to lots of Chinese takeaways in Cov, but this one is the best! Consistently good, no matter what dish you order, and the curry is the best out there. Goodness knows why these sort of places don't take card payment though!
A really high quality Chinese take away. Well cooked food not swimming in sauce, crispy duck and mushroom is very good. Large spring rolls excellent.

Years ago a friend named Allesley House as the best Chinese takeaway in Coventry (to the point where he would travel from 1 side of the city to use it). I agree with him. The quality of the dishes are superb & I've never had 1 bad one in over 8 years. The customer service is very good also. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Allesley House to anybody.
This is my local Chinese. It is by far the best Chinese in Coventry, you could maybe even argue the whole West Midlands. The food is always prompt, extremely tasty and great value for money. I actually find the food is the nicest when they are at their busiest. Would highly recommend to anyone.
