We had planned to come to Ansty on our travels on the canal and knew about the Rose and Castle! We were going to come here for food but didn’t book as were no certain we would make it! We went on a Wednesday night and it was fully booked so we had to sit outside! However, food still came quickly and
Really nice pub and restaurant, staff were really welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. The menu was very extensive and a small nice selection of draft beer and larger. The meals size was amazing, more than enough to fill even the fattest of belly ! Lol. The only fault from our visit wa
I love this place! The menu is vast so there's really something for everyone. I've been twice now and both times the food has been brilliant and the team have been friendly, personable and really helpful. The atmosphere is great too, it's a lovely old building with exposed beams everywhere and a dra
Excellent Sunday lunch. The 3 meat special was fantastic. Fully recommend the cheesecake if you can manage a pudding
We originally only had a couple of pints here. Not much of a selection of real ales but the golden ale grew on us. Went back a week later for dinner. I was pleased to find there were lots of veggie options, catering for a range of tastes, although a little heavy on the cheese. My partner had beef an
Staff were friendly and welcoming. The pub has lovely feature beams. There's a great variety of choice with the food, unfortunately the price of some of the specials (e.g. around £6 for 3 chicken goujons) was a bit steep.
Absolutely Outstanding.
Very, very Good Food.
Full Plate worth of Excellent Sunday Roast.
Struggled to finish it all.
Faultless Service, Faultless Food.
10/10
If you are mooring up at Ansty, don't miss this Gem. 👍👍👍
Visited here with my good friend Nigel. Staff were really helpful and friendly despite being run off their feet as this pub is an attraction because of the food. My word. I can see why it is so popular. I had cajun chicken pieces and my friend had peppered chicken. The dishes were to die for. Absolu
From the roadway outside we thought the pub may be closed, but as soon as we walked in, we were immediately engulfed in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
Our booked table was ready, the menu was comprehensive and food reasonably priced. We were celebrating a birthday and everything went smoothly
Great pub food at a reasonable price. Excellent service and a really good pale ale. We will be back.
Amazing food, fantastic service and excellent atmosphere
Really pleasant staff, goodmportions of food and reasonably priced. Ideal for those on the canal and narrowboating. Only 5 minute walk from canal mooring. We wiĺl repeat the visit next time we are on the canal.
Brilliant service, friendly staff, great menu and the food was delicious😊
Excellent food. Had pate to start - warm bread and all homemade was delicious. Prime Sirloin for main - chips were truly a thing of beauty! Crisp and fluffy. Steak tender, peppercorn sauce generous and delicious. Highly recommended. Decent pint too - doombar and tribute on tap.
The food great and the staff are excellent
Stopped with a friend for lunch we both ordered ham, chips, coleslaw and salad and served quickly food was good and nice atmosphere pleasant experience thank you
Very friendly staff and good food.
We were on the Canal Boats traveling through, Stopped and called for a nice pint, we sat on the outside seating area because we had dogs, The staff inside the Pub made us feel very welcome. What I did see of the food in the bar, it looked very tasty!
