I regularly stay away and normally country hotels. Never stayed in a pub before. Regular visitors to cotebrook shire horse centre. Decided to take a chance on the Alvanley Arms. So glad I did. Stopped for Sunday lunch and had an enjoyable meal. Fairly busy so worth booking ahead. Traditional lunch menu with choice of beef, turkey, pork or vegetarian (in addition to the regular menu). Nicely done.

Stopped off after a hike in Delamere forest. Had homemade cheese, onion and potato pie and it was so good! Amazing portion sizes and very tasty. Would recommend to all :)

Called for a drink but decided to eat an early meal on our travels home from holiday in Cornwall. So glad we did. The food was delicious and the day was so beautiful we sat out in the lovely garden to eat. Staff so helpful too. Great place.
What a Sunday Roast!! Massive and very tasty. Nice friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Nice beer garden next to a large pond. Would highly recommend.
Lovely meal there today. The beef and ale pie was amazing. The beef just fell apart - and lots of it too. Delicious, if somewhat filling! No dessert possible..
