It’s rare to find such an all round success. After years and years of dining in vegan eateries I’ve finally found somewhere that truly gets it.
The food was fresh, delicious and nutritionally considered. I was so excited to find a menu that wasn’t simply catering to the movement. The diversity of the current menu was inspiring and the owner explained that due to repeat customers they update the menu on a regular basis to keep things interesting.
The decor and ambience was first class. Tastefully decorated with thoughtful design. The playlist in the room was fun and had something for everyone.
As well as all the above, the deeply compassionate and thoughtful owners and the beautiful location. The team have gone above and beyond to also support an actual animal sanctuary.
It’s unbelievable.
Go there, eat the food or/and drink and support the hard work that is happening here.
A fabulous discovery. Most of the party were meat eaters, but there were plenty of delicious vegan dishes available. We all loved it. A minor quibble: there were few red wines available by the glass by comparison to white. Also note that those hoping to avail themselves of the 2 EV charge points should get there early otherwise they may be blocked by fossil fuel burners
Nice pub, restaurant and hotel. The food and desserts are delicious and reasonably priced. The rooms are clean, modern and functional. It's a great location, easy to find. Plenty of parking available in front the building. They have a nice garden for guests when the weather is nice. They have car chargers on site (I'm not sure if they are available for guests or not as we didn't use them). Highly recommended.
Being honest, I was now expecting to enjoy this visit. Previous experience of Vegan dishes didn't full me with confidence. HOWEVER! The food was fabulous. 4 starters and a main (nachos of course!) between 4 of us. Dessert was excellent too. Because it was so hot, people didn't seem to be chatting much so hindsight says we should have eaten outside. That's why 4 stars for the atmosphere. Not actually the fault of the restaurant. 4 stars for the service was the 40 minute gap between ordering dessert and receiving it at the table. I am converted and will happily eat here again. Just recommend that if you have a big car, park at the edge of the parking area to give yourself a chance to get out. There are those who have no consideration
If you are vegan or simply want to try a plant based menu, you MUST try the Harp and Crown. A great village pub that has an ethical, delicious menu.
The popularity of this place speaks for itself - it’s been packed on the three times I’ve visited so far.
The menu is varied with everything from Sunday roast, to burgers, lasagna and everything in between.
Personally I’m not vegan/vegetarian, however my other half is, and despite being somewhat sceptical at first, the Harp and Crown is one of my favourite places to go out for food.
Current favourite is the sticky ‘wing’ starter.
Pricing is VERY reasonable given the standard of service, food and dining experience.
Give it a try!
Harp and Crown is my absolute favourite.....a food paradise for vegans! My boyfriend and I have been coming here over the last couple of years and its such a gorgeous spot. The menu is ever changing and the food is always absolutely beautiful. The staff are wonderful and are always super chatty and helpful. The restaurant itself is immaculate and decorated beautifully! This place is a must visit for everyone! ooo and the coffee is also great :)
You must try the mac and cheeze!
(also very dog friendly)
Had the curry. Wife had the bang bang cauliflower and the kids had the burger. Soooooo accommodating.
Pulled out games for the kids from behind the bar and serve kid versions of all the menu items.
Very tasty. Proper gem of a place. Will come again!
The perfect place. Beautifully prepared food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Only criticism is that the food was so good that we ordered too much and had to take half our pudding home!
This was a pleasantly surprising dining experience. As regular meat eaters we were a bit sceptical but the food here is really tasty, especially loved the southern fried oyster mushrooms and the corn ribs. Will definitely go back and take many friends!
Beautiful pub with a tasty menu and 100% vegan, what more could you ask for! Came for a solo meal with my dog in toe and received a warm welcome and fast service, even on a busy Friday night. The portion sizes are big so I couldn’t finish my meal but the staff were all too happy to give me a takeaway box. Can’t wait to come back ❤️
