Had my first gluten free fish and chips here last night. Was far better than I expected. It was extremely good, the best I have ever had. Extremely nice staff. Spotlessly clean. I will certainly be back. If you have tried it give it a go you won't be disappointed.
Came in this evening for a large mixed doner kebab. I have been in a few times and ordered fish and chips, which are amazing. After seeing your posts on Facebook I thought I should give it a try. So glad I did !!!! Was the best kebab I have had from corby, the garlic mayo which I was told they made themselves is definelty worth a taste. The shop was full of customers showing how good their food is. We did wait a while but prefer the wait knowing they are cooking their food to my order, and not just keeping it warm on the hope someone will come in a purchase it. Would highly recommend anyone to try them out !!!

Great customer service and excellent food! The eat in feature is incredibly unique as I've never seen a chip shop do this! Would highly recommend trying some of their amazingly beer battered food!
Since I moved from Scotland to England 8 years ago I have been searching for a chippy that comes close to the Scottish ones and I am pleased to say I have finally found one! The haddock and chips were so tasty and they have black pudding haggis and scotch pie on the menu too. Very very reasonable prices and staff are friendly. Finally a chip shop that will get my repeat business even if I do have to travel 8 miles to it

I don't review businesses unless I have visited for a long time so I can write a fair review.
I have been going to this chippy since it opened, and every time I've visited I've never had any issues. The food is fantastic, and the staff is amazing. I have gone to many chippys in and around Corby, and none has gotten a FIVE star rating from me accept from this place.
Ever since this place opened, this has been the main chippy I've gone too. I'm very pleased with how it looks inside (Since their reburbishment) and once you walk in you feel welcomed. During their busier times, they still work hard to keep everyone happy by making the food fantastic and preparing the meals in a reasonable time. Tables and chairs are always clean, the floor is always clean and the food counters are always clean. I have had a laugh with the staff, and noticed that other customers have aswell so they are very friendly to everyone. They have plenty on their menu, so no need to worry about looking at a small, empty menu.
I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a chippy near-by.

Just had the most amazing fish + chips, gorgeous thin crispy batter and could taste the beef dripping from both the fish and the chips, cannot get more traditional fish + chips than that, well done will definitely be back ��

We had a lovely takeaway, the staff were very friendly all our food was freshly cooked and very tasty. The curry sauce was sublime the best ever, and the portions were massive.
Ordered in the shop, fish cooked fresh to order. Good crisp batter, dry not swimming in fat! Tender juicy flaky fish. Chips perfect. This is the closest we have found to 'seaside fish & chips' without being by the sea!
Marked down 1 star because delivery is hit and miss. One time it arrived perfect, another was cold, soggy and tasteless hut we put that down to the food 'sweating' in polystyrene tubs in a food warming bag. I can't see a solution to this other than to order and collect in person. Any time we fancy fish and chips we will always collect. Looking forward to the first fry of new potatoes, yummy 😋.
Weekly delivery takeaway from The Old Village Fish and Chip shop. Food is easily the best locally, especially the fish and curry sauce is next level. I wouldn’t use any other chippy now. Everything is always freshly cooked. Even better now that they offer a delivery service. Staff are always very polite and friendly.
So my wife and I decided to try this place after being dissapoinyrd with several other local fish and chip shops. Not that they were bad, but they weren't particularly outstanding either. However this place really blew our minds, the staff were extremely friendly and the store looks very clean. We ordered a mixed bag of food so we could get a feel for the place and every single morsel was cooked fresh and tasted fantastic. The kids also enjoyed their meals. We plan on coming back in the near future for more amazing food!
Loved the themed decor of this place. Despite being in the heart of Northamptonshire, you feel like you're by the sea.
You can tell by the look and great taste that the chips are proper chips. I couldn't tell if they were hand-cut or not!
Great to see the option of eating in as well as taking away, and though the place is small inside, the staff allowed my friend to use their bathroom before a long drive back to London.
Very friendly service all round, and fantastic food! Would definitely recommend a visit if you find yourself in Corby!
Really lovely fish and chips here. It was our first time visiting and the portions are huge! My husband said the staff were friendly and the service was very quick. Highly recommended! We will go back!
I've Only been going here for 23 years ,not nearly as long as some people .
Those behind the counter may have changed in that time , but quality ,taste ,value and friendly service remain the same .

Tried over 12 fish & chip shops across Northamptonshire on a recent little adventure. This was the first one we tried and it was delicious and became the benchmark. No other came close. Nice, clean premises and lovely food. Try the deep fried Mars Bar, they're surprisingly lovely.
Food is fantastic. Really don't mind the wait as it is worth it. Not like other chip shops where they cook 10 of everything and leave it to dry out for 2 hours. To the people complaining about the wait. Give them a call and pre order.
I've heard nothing but good things about The Old Village Fish and Chip Shop. So good in fact that I needed to try it myself. I'm pleased to say that it has lived up to its reputation. Very clean shop with seating. A nice selection of drinks in the cooler to help quench your thirst. The real gem is the food. I had a scampi and a small chips fully expecting to get the usual pale, minced shrimp in a doughy batter. WRONG! Huge whole tail scampi fried to a crispy brown perfection. The chips though a small portion were generous and plenty for one person. My husband had the large plain sausage and said it was tasty without being too greasy. I have to say I'm worried about my weight. The ease of parking and running in for a quick supper is going to be tempting me!
We ordered fish chips and mushy peas. The portions were very generous and so very very tasty. You have the option of sitting in or take away. Also there is a really good variety of food on offer. The staff are lovely and friendly would highly recommend a visit.
What a stroke of good fortune coming across this place again, after a couple of years thinking it had closed down forever... I really fancied some good, tasty fish and chips, without the grease. Well, I came to the right place! Succulent cod with a light crispy batter... and dry chips, lovely and firm on the outside, and melt in your mouth once you bit into them. And Jamie, the owner, has a great ethos of serving up the best tasting and healthiest food he can. Everything is cooked to order, so it's as fresh as possible and stays hot to eat when you get home. This works for me...! Don't know how long I'll be able to last out before I have to return for a mouth watering mixed doner kebab!!
First time that I’ve ever left a review. First time at The Old Village Fish & Chip Shop. Can honestly say these were by far the best fish & chips I’ve had in ages and the best for miles around. Travelled from Thrapston and will do so again. Well done all of you!
