Lovely little pub near Lewes. Great for an after walk lunch, nice beer garden and friendly staff. The Sunday carvery was excellent, both the meat and veggie dishes. Does get busy, so book if you can.
We've been here twice for Sunday lunch with Mum in law. Wheelchair access was easy to navigate. The carvery is always superb with brilliant selection of roast veg eg red cabbage, beans , caramelised carrot , parsnips , cauliflower cheese ,peas, wonderful yorkies and of course the meat. I had turkey
Ok I am definitely going back! If you are interested in going, book before you go! If you are vegetarian the nut roast is very good.
We went here and had the mid week carvery and was not disappointed. Generous servings of meat and all cooked to perfection. The dessert was just as delicious and also well proportioned. The gentleman that served us and all the staff were super friendly.
Best bit: dogs are welcome! Excellent carvery, tasty and plentiful, on a Wednesday evening. Great customer service (we were served by Adam, a hardworking young chap).
Little advice: since dogs are allowed in and around the premises, it would make sense to have a couple of bins (one at the front, nex
A real hidden treasure.
Fed up with the chain carveries with their measly portions of meat and veg stewed to a mush, we were looking for something a bit better.
This place is in a different league. Well worth the drive and having to have a soft drink!
The three meats were perfect - and really dec
We recently hosted my Mum's 70th birthday party and had a private room for around 25 people @ The Rainbow. We had a fantastic evening and enjoyed a 3 course meal and drinks. Phil, Harvey and team were most accommodating and made us feel very taken care of. The children loved playing in the garden on
A last minute booking for 4 people, A very warm welcome by owner & hostess with the mostest, quite quite due to no shows & cancellatiins which is such a shame if your trying to run a business!! Food was very good, plates could have been warmer but we all had fush, either cod in batter of cod with a
Lovely Sunday carvery, great food, great staff and great atmosphere. What more do you want.Highly recommended
Went in for Sunday Carvery and was very happy with the food and service. The meat was cooked and served very well. The beer was well looked after and served well. The atmosphere was bubbly and full of happy people enjoying their lunch.
Fabulous, I have never had such a good quality of carvery like it. First time there but definitely not the last! Beef cooked a dream and melted in your mouth all the vegetables cooked with style and totally to die for. Delicious.
This pub is such a lovely, cosy, Sussex pub. We always receive a really warm welcome and the staff, especially Sophie (assistant manager) makes sure we are happy with our meal and service. Food is fantastic. We are really impressed with the new owners and wish them the very best as they begin their
This place is really nice. Surprised it was so quiet for a Saturday but had a really nice feel to it. We sat by the fire and it felt really cosy. The barman was ever so friendly and nothing seemed too much bother for him. The menu was good, typical pub fare. I had a nice beef sarnie with cheesy chip
Lovely pub, great food and carvery. The red cabbage was amazing.
Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Easy parking. Will definitely return.
Stopped in for a drink and a bite to eat. Very welcoming staff and a homely feel to this traditional pub. The food was faultless and made even better by the sun shining in the beer garden. I will definitely be making a return trip.
Food good and ample portion sizes, front of house a little casual in places. We both ordered the carvery so the lack of presentation is down to us. The rest of the menu looks good so this place is worth a look if you're after a good value, no-frills meal in comfortable surroundings.
Tasty food, very kind stuff and good atmosphere. Highly recommended! :)
We were on route to a pub in lewes we've been to before when we spotted the rainbow so we thought we'd stop and see what food was available. A lovely lady ran the menu past us she was so kind and we decided to have lunch here. I'm glad we did as the food was lovely and great value. We also really en
