Did not stay at the hotel. Often come here as our favourite place to eat in Conwy. Can get busy at times, have had a lovely lunch and dinner here. Great local beer, good nonalcoholic drinks for those who need it, and tasty local food thoughtfully made with good portions. Really solid place to go. Do make reservations if you need to eat in the dining room! I think it's also dog-friendly which is useful if you have a furry friend! Patio is really nice when it's sunny out as well.
I can't prise the place enough!
Very pleasant and clean rooms.
Food is outstanding and service even better. I can't thank enough the lovely lady who found me a taxi in the morning which was a massive challenge. You got me to my training on time !!
Highly recommended 👌 I will be booking again for any future stays. Thank you xx
Enjoyed a lovely, elevated Sunday lunch here. The meal was delicious, the service was pretty quick considering it was rather busy at the time we went (mid afternoon).
Part of the indoor seating area is dog friendly which was nice to see, but we opted outside in the courtyard area.
The only minor complaint is that we would have liked more vegetables as part of the dish, rather than needing to order extra for the table.
That being said, the portion was overall decent!
If we're back in Conwy, we would all be happy to return to try more from the menu
We didn't stay at the hotel but had an excellent dinner. The quality of both our starters and main courses was superb. We agreed the best meal we'd each had this year (we are foodies and travel a lot). The cod loin, mussels, samphire and smoked cauliflower puree was amazing. The couscous with the the lamb kebabs was so tasty. As a side dish, the honey glazed roasted carrots were incredible - diners on nearby table were talking about them. Also as a pleasant surprise our meal prices were very reasonable. Thank you, please don't change and we will be back!
Sunday lunch: Lovely atmosphere with a live pianist this afternoon. We had the Sunday roast - amazing! Great quality. Book in advance if you want a restaurant table. We sat by the bar since the restaurant was fully booked and it was a great experience.
Booked in for a meal at short notice, plenty of places to park for the evening.
We were shown to our table without delay. The wine menu was reasonably priced. The menu was fantastic, the service was excellent and the food was absolutely faultless.
What a great little place to eat in the heart of Conwy 10/10!!!
Great pub in the heart of Conwy, although can't comment on the rooms. We stopped for a meal with a group of 6 plus our dog. You can sit inside with dogs but we chose the little courtyard outside. Nice atmosphere and really nicely decorated inside too. The service was quick and friendly and the food was excellent, all 6 of us agreed it was the best meal we'd had in 2 weeks on holiday in the local area. I can particularly recommend the bacon chop with black pudding bubble & squeak. Will definitely be going back for another meal next time we're in the area.
Stopped off for evening meal - the best cod loin I have ever tasted, cooked perfectly in a light cauliflower puree with mussels and samphire. Thank you, very welcome after a wet day exploring beautiful castles
One of my favourite pubs/bars in Conwy. I've been here many times for drinks although I am yet to try the food. It's always busy, but not overcrowded, on a weekend and they are dog friendly. The décor is cool and it's a very warm and welcoming place to be. They have a nice beer garden/smoking area with halogen heaters. It's a bit small and I can imagine it being full on warmer/sunny days.
I have had some odd issues on occasion, hence the 4 star rating. They don't do cocktails apparently, but they will do some cocktails... i.e. on a recent visit I asked for an Espresso Martini but the bartender declined, stating that they don't do cocktails. Fair enough, I got a pint instead. But the next day, my wife asked for an Aperol Spritz, which they gladly made for her. As far as I am aware, an Aperol Spritz is a cocktail. I wouldn't mind if I had asked for a Sex on the Beach, but an Espresso Martini is not in the same class as a Sex on the Beach!
Then on our last visit, we walked by the pub, peering inside to see if it was busy. It was not busy and I could see plenty of free space/tables/seats, yet the doorman refused entry, stating that they were full. They clearly weren't full but I didn't argue, we went elsewhere.
It's still a great bar overall and I do want to try the food on our next visit. I recommend a visit if you're in Conwy as it is one of the better bars in the area. The bar is right across from the train station too which is a bonus.
Popped in for a pint, lovely welcoming staff. Lovely clean place and looks like an amazing place to eat. Was a little too busy and noisy for my liking, more to do with some customers who were half-cut at 5pm on a Saturday - they have a bouncer on the door which tells you a lot in my opinion!
Went back for lunch on a Thursday and much quieter, food was fabulous and very tasty, seems to me it is best enjoyed when it is not too busy.

Premium inn in the walled city of Conwy, close to the castle, and within walking distance of everything you want to see. Their restaurant is fantastic!! Everything we had was delicious and we were very happy with the bottle of wine we had. We stayed at their rehabilitated chapel across the street called "Y Capel". It is amazing and very nice. Luxury accomodations and very romantic.
We had a lovely stay. The room was lovely and spacious and great decor. We had a really nice evening meal and the waitress was excellent. Our breakfast was lovely too. We will definitely be back soon and can highly recommend.
Visited with 2 friends for lunch 17 August. I had steak which I requested to be cooked medium well, this was perfectly cooked and i enjoyed it. My friend also ordered steak to be cooked medium rare, however this was overcooked and not as requested, but still OK. My other friend ordered chicken salad. She found this inedible as it was covered in a very oily dressing all over. She advised the waitress immediately and showed her. As the meal was inedible she left the whole meal which was disappointing. We had deserts of bakewell tart which were delicious. It would have been an acceptable gesture for the amount of the chicken salad to have been deducted from our bill under the circumstances. I didn't ask and it wasn't offered.
Stayed here to 2 nights and had a lovely time. The hotel is super clean big spacious room big bed and plenty of tea/ coffee. Breakfast we great plentiful hot and freshly cooked to order. We ate at the restaurant both evenings and the food was fabulous!! Staff are so professional polite and not in your face. Would recommend and will be staying again when in Conwy❤️
Was lucky enough to get in here for sunday lunch, great service, friendly staff, beautiful decor, food was incredible. The bloke playing the piano set a lovely mood, highly recommend and will be returning.
Nice pub with friendly staff. Restaurant tables were fully booked so we ate in the bar. The pie was great and reasonably priced.
Had the most amazing Sunday lunch today. The staff were brilliant, lovely and so polite. Will be returning and might stay for the night next time, so I can have a drink.🤣
