We stopped in for lunch and ordered a small fish chips- neither portion was particularly small, but both were delicious, with the best chips I've had in awhile. I would definitely recommend it!
What a beautiful find. We stayed here on Saturday, to celebrate our friends birthday. Absolutely thrilled with every thing. Room was immaculate, tea n coffee, biscuits, even fly spray in toilet but didn't need it!! The view was amazing from our window across the dales for miles. Had a meal in the Resturant couldn't-fault any of it. The quality and quantity was top 5 star. Breakfast was to this morning so much to choose from. A excellent family run pub.. we will be back. Lovely meeting you all and your great team of workers.

We stopped for an ad hoc lunch and we were very glad we did! Great menu; best fish batter ever and pudding to die for! Delightful staff made the experience really memorable. Will certainly be back
Had Christmas Lunch here today. Absolutely superb, gorgeous setting, great staff and food was exceptional. Fabulous attention to detail with everything. Well done to all who made this a truly lovely day. Would certainly recommend.
What a fabulous place. Our room was totally luxurious, fabulous walk in shower, best bed ever and power sockets everywhere you need them - 8 at last count in one room and accessible from both sides of a luxury bed. The restaurant food and ambience in the pub were just lovely and we'll definitely be back. Oh, and to top it off, a perfect poached egg for breakfast. The Wyvill Arms is superb.
Had a great meal at the Wyvill! Nigel the chef really knows his stuff, great flavours and good portions. A 12oz Sirloin was just the job, with his special Black Jack sauce served by the friendly staff. All washed down with a pint of Gamekeeper ale! Smashing! Give it a go folks.
Another fantastic meal, this is our fave place ever to eat, shame it's about 70 miles away, next time we gonna stay over. Top food Nigel and BIG THANKS for the takeaway sauce for Robyn , you never fail to please and all the staff are lovely x

Can't fault this place. The perfect balance between rustic and mod cons and very friendly and helpful staff.
We stayed here on Thursday night, as we were collecting our son from Catterick the following day...what a fantastic find. After an awful journey the log burner and red wine was just what we needed! Our evening meal was wonderful, everything was fresh and beautifully cooked. The room was lovely and we had a great night’s sleep....

I booked this online from Australia, not knowing what it would be like. To sum up, it was fab!! The amazing hospitality shown to us by Nigel, mum and the team was awesome. The accommodation was really good, the food was incredible and all wrapped up in a lovely location.
Thanks Nigel, mum & team for a really lovely stay! Jo, Paul & Reece x
My fiancée took me here for my birthday last night and was lovely! The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was just to die for! We both had the sirloin steak and it was absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection and the taste of it been cooked on charcoals was out of this world! We stayed at the shard in London this year and had steak and I have to say it was very much on par with that! Two VERY happy customers, Thank you! We will be back!

Place is stunning and spotless, as soon as you enter you are welcomed like an old friend such a comfortable relaxed atmosphere you feel like part of the furniture but being waited on and looked after just perfectly. Took my husband for his birthday.Lovely food and very hospitable staff. Loved sitting in the booth with the model train traveling around the ceiling !
Excellent place to stay, it's a family run business I will show examples of three rooms two of which we had the pleasure of staying in,all three have small courtyards to them which is very nice when the sun is out.
The food is second to none, and I say that with confidence from someone who is a seasoned traveller of the world. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful and friendly, with one in particular noted by all in our party of seven people and he goes by the name of Ned.
I would be happy to recommend this establishment to anyone and all of my family and friends.
Very friendly staff willing to engage in conversation or leave you to enjoy enjoyable tasty meals. Rooms well equipped. Sited in a rural location offering a peaceful nights sleep. Well maintained garden areas for that summer drink.
Well worth a visit.
Party of 7 went for Sunday lunch. We chose the Sunday roast (lamb, beef & chicken) all was amazing, cooked to our requests also the yorkshire puds was quite special. Others opted for fish and chips, don't think I've tasted better fish. All the staff were really attentive, friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Nigel the chef/owner also popped out to say hello.. great location and lovely inside. Had a quick look in the bedrooms which looked great. Many thanks
Popped in for a Sunday lunch. Make sure you book as it gets busy. But there's a good reason for that... it is fantastic! Beautiful cuts of meat, veg is seasoned perfect, and the Yorkshire pudding well... one of the biggest and best. Hats off to Nigel the chef and his team 👍, not forgetting the brilliant service we received. Will be back.
First time here this weekend. What can i say expect....Wow!! Thank you so much to all of the team, all excellent service! Especially Ned 5star service and so friendly. Our room was clean, spacious and very homely. Compliments to the chef our evening meal and breakfast were delicious. We'll definitely be back here again!! 😊
My friend and I recently stayed here in the car park in our campervans for a couple of nights, with electric hook up and fresh water offered it was a good find. Ned made us extremely welcome and kept us fully entertained. The food was excellent as was the wine. Thanks Ned and Wyvill, hope to see you again. Anne and Diana xx
Lovely establishment with clean spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff and a great pint followed in the morning by a really nice cooked breakfast.
What fantastic food , absolutely tasty and enjoyable. The owner is a lovely man who is a brilliant chef and a massive thank you to bed and all the staff.
Just spent a lovely weekend here at Wyvil Arms , for my wifes birthday with a couple friends , fantastic time , nice pub /hotel food and service was absolutely amazing ,special mention to Nedd the bar man , he was a lovely funny special guy really made our stay , big thank you from the Inghams.
Stayed in room six, on arrival warm friendly welcome by the staff especially Ned went with friends all the rooms are nicely furnished and decorated. highly recommend the breakfast one of the best sausage I’ve tasted. Would recommend staying here too service and beautiful location.
What a great place to stay we had a wonderful room for the evening, had the most amazing food on Saturday night and an excellent breakfast on the Sunday morning, a great location to explore the eastern side of the Dales. Special thanks to the staff and in particular Ned, his customer service is second to none, front of house and customer service is up there with the best, would not hesitate coming back to stay and to eat the beautiful food again - 5 star *****
Lovely countryside location and a warm and hospitable establishment with a lovely breakfast. Ned who welcomed us was particularly excellent and we appreciated all the useful info and warm welcome during our stay.
Celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at The Wyvill Arms tonight. The food was some of the best we've had for a long time. Beautifully presented and plentiful, so much so that we didn't have room for dessert, so we will have to go back to sample those. The staff are lovely - friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely visit again when we are next in the area. 100% recommend.
Quite simply one of the most welcoming, comfortable hotels I've ever stayed at. Lovely room, with a modern bathroom, and excellent shower. . 3 miles from Leyburn centre, with lots to see and do, and a local rail line, through the Dales. A perfect hotel, to base yourself, for touring, with a hearty English breakfast, freshly cooked, by the Owner, who is also a top chef. Theakstons best bitter on draft, and an extensive choice of wines. All food is cooked freshly, so a short wait isn't a problem, while you soak up quirky ornaments, that give the hotel a perfect, cozy, homely feel...We WILL be back!!
What a find! Some of the best pub food we've ever eaten. Ned is an asset to the pub, polite, warm,, funny and an absolute advocate for the pub. We'll definitely come back
Only been here once but, the place and staff left a good impression. We will be returning this year when we go on holiday.
1st class. Not cheap but the food more than lives up to the price. Cask Ale, tea and coffee. French onion soup a must, Sirloin steak cooked to my liking and hake to die for. Lovely surroundings, friendly helpful staff and dog friendly. Would absolutely recommend
Found this great pub on search for sites. Went in for a pint some food and asked if it was ok to park up for the night. Ned was working behind the bar and he said that would be fine he was exceptionally professional and curtious to all the customers, as was the lady working that night.
The Battered fish with chips, peas and homemade tartar sauce was probably the best I've had, cooked to perfection. Thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Wyvill Arms and would recommend it to all to try.
We have been holidaying locally & The Wyvill Arms was recommended where we have been staying.
Starting with the phone call to make a booking, we were greeted with a friendly voice and this carried on with our experience at the restaurant.
The service was extremely attentive - nothing was too much trouble.
The food - amazing. My wife and I both had steak and it was cooked to perfection. Our children had fish courses and they were delicious too.
The desserts were amazing - with generous portions.
We had our small dog on holiday with us and there was a lovely seating area for us. There is also a separate seating area where dogs are not allowed so all are catered for!
We thoroughly recommend The Wyvill Arms if you love great food and a friendly, attentive service!More
