The place was very cute and the scone with the clotted cream was delicious! Service was friendly and parking was easy to get to. Family friendly
Wow, wow & more wow. The most beautiful setting for a cafe EVER!!
The views were breathtaking over Coniston Water to the Coniston Old Man. Super helpful & friendly staff. They appear to grow all their own veg & salad. We both had a Ham & Cheese sandwich in delicious bread, with a gorgeous home grown salad. Chunky Ham & strong mature cheddar & Chips (someone there knows how to cook chips!!! 🩷).
We ordered our food & had a walk down to Coniston water (5 mins down a track behind the cafe), the dogs had a paddle & by the time we returned our food was ready for us.
This is our first visit here BUT won’t be our last. Thankyou, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Apparently they have self catering accommodation to rent too. Can’t review as didn’t go inside them but we’d love to stay there, those views!!!! 🩷🩷🩷
Absolutely loved this place. The location is stunningly beautiful. We went in half term when the weather was 22 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We had the special of lamb cutlets, seasonal salad with hallumi and a kids sausage and chips. Chips were proper home cooked chips. Wine selection was also great. Highly highly recommed.

Stunning views from a quintessential period property where Peter Rabbit could easily peep out of at any time. Well-kept gardens with homegrown produce for sale, outdoor seating for those with dogs (not allowed inside) some tables available to the front overlooking the lake can be accessed around the far side of the building.
Tall folk beware there are low beams. It's so nice to visit a restaurant that has not be 'tastefully' modernised but tastefully decorated in keeping with the build period of the property.
This is NOT a cheap place to eat with an Angus beef burger at £20... We decided upon the paté with mouthwatering apple and raisin chutney, Queen olives, sundried tomatoes, bistro salad leaves, and balsamic vinegar dressing, I asked for extra bread which the chef was only too happy to provide. Jon had the sandwich of the day which he reported as very good, as Jon 'just eats food' he can't say much else!
We then decided to have a cup of tea with a scone, butter, and jam outside in the garden. Huge scone with real butter and a good dollop of raspberry jam so good I had to fight off a wasp.
Highly recommended. The staff were great too! Thank you.
Driven out of Brantwood by the crowds.
Peaceful oasis just down the road lovely food and charming friendly ladies in charge. Step round the far corner of the house for one of the finest views anywhere. Swallows and Amazons for ever!
Absolutely gorgeous setting.
Food 💗💗 the pate is just the best I've ever had. Need to time better for the scones . They looked amazing HUGE
Enchanting buildings, wonderful welcome, great views, superb menu with the very generous servings of well prepared local ingredients. I cannot recommend this too highly!!!! ðŸ¤
Beautiful little tearoom- stopped for Coffee+ cakes- + a few wines! View is spectacular across Coniston Lake- so relaxing + peaceful- nice little shop as well. Staff super friendly - we will be back nxt year!
Fabulous location for sitting outside, traditional lakes farm house, food is expensive however we felt the quality of what was served was worth it, thank you
Stunning restaurant on the banks of Coniston Water. It’s famous for appearing in the Swallows and Amazons film.
Food was superb. We had sandwiches and they were incredibly tasty and well presented. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and that view….
