On arrival it took at least 10 minutes to be acknowledged by staff. No one on door, no one on bar with a queue waiting to be served. There were 6 of us and had there been just my partner and I we would have left. Only one member of staff on carvery who was really busy. After eventually being shown to our reserved table (by very pleasant member of staff) we were able to order and pay reasonably quickly. Slight delay in food arriving. Overall food good for reasonable price. Good carvery, fabulous roast potatoes, but no cauliflower cheese. Long queue at bar for second round of drinks. Seemed to be very understaffed, although staff were pleasant. Would return as overall very good value for money.
Often come here for carvery on a Sunday.
It's always rammed! So be prepared to wait to order and also to get the food from the carvery.
It's a help yourself carvery, not like some places where they serve you.
The roast potatoes can be a bit hit and miss and the parsnips can sometimes be undercooked. Good selection of vegetables.
Good price for what you get.
They accept the blue light card here. (20% off food). Must download a QR code from the app. Bad phone signal there, so you may have to sign up for their WiFi.
Lots of staff, but they always seem very busy.
The food was absolutely terrific! The carvery was super delicious!
Also, I think it is important to mention that the portions are quite large. We struggled to finish the food, despite it being amazing, just because of the amount.
Would really recommend this place - food is terrific and the atmosphere is very charming.
We hadn't visited for quite a while as the carvery wasn't too good, but today it was amazing. Everyone was courteous and professional. The carvery had the best selection of meats I've seen, beautiful cooked, particularly the beef. The vegetables were more than anyone could have eaten including 3 or 4 different types of potato. It was a really good afternoon with superb food. We would thoroughly recommend and wll be returning.
Excellent Sunday carvery - took my Nan for the first time since my Grandad passed. She used to go with him. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Lovely food - good selection - fresh and hot. Very friendly staff many thanks
Always welcoming. Good food at a fair price. Staff are really accommodating. Well done to Ollie and the team for keeping us fed and watered.
Great value for money, went twice in a week and always had space and had a nice welcome from the staff. Only downside is lack of children's play area which other nearby pubs have.
We were riding our bikes around Exmoor stopping at Lynton and Lynmouth, we stopped for lunch and had Ham eggs and chips, outside under cover, very pleasant and very welcoming.
Excellent. Food .but roasted potatoes were very hard and parnips. I thought they were not cooked anoth. a few people I came with said the same xx
Lovely carvery, staff were lovely. The price was so cheap for the amount of food you get would deffiantly go back again
Sunday lunch. Sunday Roast was excellent... . Let down by stringy sprouts. Mixed grill was excellent.... Let down by missing tomatoe. Other than that I and others enjoyed their meal. Staff were helpfull and polite. {did not complain as on the whole it was an enjoyable experience.}
Went for lunch today, after recommendation from my sister. The three of us had carvery, mine being the veg option. Plenty of choice of veg, potatoes done 4 ways, mashed, boiled, roasted and spicy roasted! All well cooked. Will definitely visit again. Well done to the staff, all very pleasant.
For the price this is really good. Had the carvery veg not over cooked, new potatoes were lovely. I had Turkey and beef for a carvery both were good. Excellent value.
Always fantastic food and excellent service. The carvery is amazing! Very good value for money
