What a wonderful couple of nights we've just spent at The Stork Hotel for our honeymoon getaway. The room was beautiful, the food delicious and the staff are an absolute credit to the hotel. You made us feel so welcome. Absolutely love how dog friendly the hotel is, we will definitely return with our Weimaraner Penny 💛🐶🙂
Thank you so much Stork Hotel for a delightful stay.
Best wishes
Vicky and Kris
Really nice, dog friendly pub. Went for breakfast and the food and service was top notch. Prices are very reasonable.
Will definitely be returning next time we're in the area.
There is even a menu for dogs, which is a great touch.
Recently refurbished. Lovely food. Early bird menu. Portions good. Became quite busy
This is one of only two pub in the area for an evening meal, I ordered starter (could have been a little better this was prawns and squid ) and main as did my hubby prices are ok. Food is as expected, for a country pub staff were great and friendly and gave us a free drink when the wrong main was brought out. A nice little pub
Nestled away where the River Lune meets the coast, the Stork Hotel is a great stop for food and a place to stay.
After a last minute cancellation elsewhere we booked the Stork for a one night stay. We paid £90 for a double room with cooked breakfast included. For a Friday night during the summer holidays in this location, we found this great value for money.
The exterior is loyal to the local countryside and the interior has been updated since our previous visit a number of years ago. The well decorated modern room featured some extra luxuries like a Dyson Fan and a smart TV. Not to mention the shower was huge!
As with a lot of hotels around this area, the nights are silent. Combined with a quality mattress, we slept really well. We were in a room towards the rear of the property. So I cannot speak on road noise for rooms towards the front.
We had an evening meal in the busy restaurant. The menu had a good selection of pub classics and specials. The food was of a high standard and arrived in good time.
The following morning we got down early for breakfast. When shown to our rooms the night before, the friendly staff told us the breakfast was at 7am. The website said 7.30am and the leaflet in the room said 8am. Safe to say we were a little unsure and tried the door at 7.30am, which was still locked.
Either way this was a minor inconvenience on an otherwise flawless nights stay.
The full English breakfast was prepared in good time and set us up for a day of walking. This included coffee and juice. There was an option for yogurts and cereals as well. However, we stuck to a cooked breakfast.
Overall, we were really impressed with our stay and would like to return again in future to try out some of the local walks from the Stork and head over to the Smoke House in nearby Glasson Dock.
Really enjoyed the Hunter's Chicken and it's really good value for money when ordering from the lunch menu.
They also do the best gravy.
The desert was disappointing though. Ordered the chocolate brownie however it was more like cold chocolate fudge.
The Stork manages to combine a country pub feel with a modern twist that works very well. The food is creative with lots of choice and is good for vegetarian/vegan options. You can stay in the room above the pub and they are nice modern rooms. It is well positioned for walks to Glasson Docks or down the nearby canal.
Lovely mid week teatime special. We had starters and the signature hunters chicken. The staff were friendly with good service. Never been before whata good find.
Great Sunday lunch with friendly staff and a nice dining atmosphere. We pre-booked and so were treated to a free dessert which was delicious and there was a varied choice. I would highly recommend.
We visited in August 2023. Lovely place and good food. Do not be put off by the crazy booking service or phone message saying you can only book for the next day, just turn up. You can eat in the bar area too but it is likely that there will be a proper table available. The seem to want you to book the day before for the next day not same day, never seen this before. It will put you off and I am sure they lose business over it as the food and service is very good. Just go, if it is full there are plenty of pubs around and about.
