Merchant Tea Rooms & Bistro - Colyton - Photo album

Stopped here for lunch after researching the place and weren't disappointed. We were met by the chef who apologised that he was the only one on duty and there would be a slight delay. We sat in the garden and had a great time. The chef was friendly, polite and attentive as he could be given he was
A unique dining experience at the Bistro in Colyton Fresh quality food, mouth watering flavours, superb presentation Relaxed & friendly atmosphere Cooked to perfection by an amazing chef Dariusz :0)
Nice little venue. Scones were homemade and very tasty! Tea was Earl Grey and Orange Blossom again very tasty! The vibe was great with what sounded like 1930s French Jazz as background. Recommended.
It’s a long time since I’ve enjoyed a meal out as much as I did when I visited this restaurant with my wife, son and daughter in law this week. We all without exception enjoyed every mouthful of all four courses that were served up in this pretty and comfortable eatery. There was nothing that could
We are a foreign couple who vacationed in Colyton this summer. Yesterday we found this spectacular place that had very good reviews and opinions on the Internet, where we had dinner in an incredibly quiet atmosphere, absolutely extraordinary and very tasty food, all made and cooked by hand, said the
Fab tea rooms. The guy serving was working his socks off as was on his own doing the food prep and serving. He made us feel very welcome. The scones were beautifully fresh and very tasty. We'll worth a visit.
Exceptional scones, cream and jam. This place is really excellent. A large selection of teas and cakes. The jam was award winning - and for good reason! There is also loads of choices for anyone who is gluten free and the gluten free scones (pictured) were just as wonderful as the other ones.
A lovely tea room. Beautifully decorated, tea served in china cups and a very nice selection of cakes. The Cheddar and rosemary scones are delicious! We didn't try a main course but the menu looked very tempting and reasonably priced. The owner and staff are all very friendly. I will definitely visi

Amazing find. Excellent food and really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend having lunch here. There is an evening Bistro too if you are staying nearby.
Very friendly, welcoming staff in a clean and well presented tea room. Great selection of reasonably priced food and drinks a lot of which was home made. We had a fantastic cream tea each with home made scones, clotted cream and jam. Would highly recommend a visit if they can fit you in.
We had a first class lunch here. The pasta and the crevettes were the best we've had for a long time. Looking forward to returning very soon.
We attended a ‘bistro menu’ evening and it was wonderful. Delicious food, fantastic service and a great atmosphere. Will recommend and return.
Beautiful oldy worldy tea room. Gluten free also service brilliant would highly recommend
A very nice local lady who was walking down the street recommend this place and we were not disappointed with the food. My wife had a cream tea as you can see and I had some lovely soup homemade 😋
Very good afternoon tea, scones freshly baked by the owner that morning. Good choice of items to pick from.
Lovely Tea Shop and Bistro. Charming environment, lovely staff super tea and cake. They even had a traditional Welsh cake, Barra Brith, which was spot on. All good 😎 👍 👍 👍
The staff were attentive and one in particular who was of Oriental origin made our experience a delightful one. The food was really excellent and it’s good to taste veg that is cooked properly, as I don’t like Al dente. The whole dish was very good indeed. We were made most welcome, plus our well
