Made a last minute decision to come here on the way back from our holiday and we're so glad we did. Lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk in, absolutely loved the interior along with the thatched roofed bar. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Plenty of options to choose from but we decided to go for the vegetarian roast and the chicken and wild mushroom tagliatelle. Will hopefully be coming back soon!

We were travelling through the area and tried a couple of other places before finding the Wheelwright. Although they were fully booked and busy, they let us have a drink at the bar and wait for a table. The service was excellent, our hosts were welcoming and friendly. We had the roast beef and it was one of the best roasts we've had in a while, good quality ingredients and a decent sized portion. Will definitely be going back and would recommend as a friendly pub with a great atmosphere and tasty food.

Sat outside here in the late afternoon sunshine on a couple of occasions recently whilst on holiday. Thoroughly enjoyed relaxing here, the beer was good, didn't eat so can't comment on the food.

Great restaurant with very friendly, welcoming staff. Not the cheapest, but we were happy to spend a bit more for such great quality food and excellent service.

Fantastic pub that we came across whilst having a trip on the Seaton tramway which was a five minute walk from the station. Called in for Sunday lunch and the food and service was excellent. Have since been past in the car and all commented how nice this place was and so tempted to return.

Great service and great food. After a busy Sunday lunch time (to the extent that the roasts had run out by evening!) - my request for fish as per weekday menu resulted in a superbly cooked piece of hake with lemon couscous- YUM! Thanks to all.

A lovely old pub with a good atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was lovely, we had the chilli pork tacos which were really tasty (just the right amount of chilli !). Will definitely pop in again when we are in the area.

Lovely little pub. Wasn’t expecting THAT menu, some great choices!! Great service. Reasonably priced - apart from the steak at £30 - this is expensive for an 8oz sirloin.

Popped in here for a drink on a rainy afternoon. Love the interior with the thatched roof bar, it has a nice rustic feel about the place. The landlord was very friendly and chatty. Very dog-friendly which is a bonus for us. Pretty standard selection of local ales/ciders so would like to see a bigger choice of guest ales maybe? The food menu sounded nice and prices were fairly average for a country pub. My Wife was disappointed to read that the sign she thought said 'Pizza Night' was actually 'Paella Night', a tad shame as it gives the impression that the only decent looking pub in the area seems to cater more for 'Hummus and Olives' type clientele. We'd be happy to come here for a special occasion, but not somewhere we could afford to visit frequently.
