Popped here with family and friends to see Santa. What a charming little pub. Service and food was great, and the on site Gin Distillery is cool to look at. Was really impressed. Will go again.
Great homemade food.. traditional country pub. Excellent service.. did I mention the food. Really enjoyed my time here would definitely go back for a second third and fourth time!
Had our Xmas works meal here, parking and toilets were good. The staff were very attentive and friendly, as was the atmosphere.
The three courses came in a timely manner and were good, although I prefer my vegetables less well done.

Stopped for an evening meal on the way up to Whitby. Lovely village location. Felt out of the way but is close to main roads. Great ambience and comfortable surroundings. Pretty good food that goes beyond the usual "pub grub". Quite a long drive - part of it on narrow country lanes that adds to the charm. Loved my haddock though ham terrine was too salty. Mixed dessert was awesome. Good friendly service.
Beautiful homecooked food in such a beautiful, quiet spot not far from York.
Food is only available Monday and Friday.
First time visiting and we were really impressed. Great location, plenty of parking and a heated outdoor area. The food was top class and the staff were really welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. Definitely returning soon!
Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, varied menu, and several guest beers. Lovely lunch. A place I went to back in the day growing up nearby, and it is brilliant to see it in such good hands now. Will be back soon!
Very warm and friendly place. Didn't dine but menu looked good. Will do next time. Check opening times before you visit.
