Decided to call into village tavern for lunch on the way through. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and shown to our seats. The server was most pleasant, and after a lengthy chat I discovered he was the proprietor. Food was excellent, especially the pepper sauce, really something!!! Our meal was very reasonably priced and there was plenty of it. 2 mains 2 desserts and 4 soft drinks 32 pounds. Overall a lovely experience indeed and I wish Daniel and the team every success for the future. God willing we will return soon.

Fish was in lovely crispy batter and full of fish, the steak sandwich was so tasty. Staff extremely knowledgable and pleasant. Lovely surroundings, comfortable. Def worth a visit.

I held a fundraising event in the restaurant when I shaved my hair for cancer and I met a lovely bunch of people there. Jimmy, Marion, Diane and Richard couldn't have done any more for me if they tried. Their bar staff were so friendly and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone for anything at all. Everyone had a fantastic night. So if you're looking for that special place for anything at all that's the place to go. Thanks so much to u all ���

Booked a table for 9 on the north west Saturday. Service was very slow. Staff were unhelpful & didn't seem to know what they were doing. Attitute from young staff was terrible. Tables who ordered 30 mins after us received there food before us, they seemed to be friends with the young staff. Not sure if I will be back. Male waiter/owner is really helpful & seems to have a genuine interest in making this restaurant a success. Might call back during the summer to see if things have improved
