Great food, service and atmosphere. Absolutely lovely meal. Recommend booking in advance as it's popular. A true hidden gem on the Ashdown Forest.

Didn't eat this time, but the cask ale was outstandingly good. Starting with a sparkling glass, perfect temperature and conditioning and almost uniquely this side of lockdown, serving a full pint measure in the glass. Add atmosphere and friendly locals. It's all there for the devoted Harvey's drinker.

Had the most wonderful lunch today with my family. It was extremely busy but we never felt left out or anything was too much trouble. Nickie and the team were very helpful. The food was exceptional we all had different things from the menu I had the liver and bacon which was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back again

Such a lovely place! We stopped in for dinner last night and were greeted so warmly (which was very welcome as it was raining cats & dogs outside!). Food was superb - we had the Crab Risotto & Calf's Liver - both delish. And the team serving were wonderful and so friendly. Our dog was also treated royally. We'll definitely be back - thank you!

Great location....lots of people enjoying the Sunday sunshine.....we arrived at 1pm with no booking. No food available so book up!! Lovely place but they were totally overwhelmed by the number of customers.

Check opening hours if planning a visit. Excellent ales. The pub is a 10 minute walk uphill from Colemans Hatch church stop on Metrobus 291.

Lovely food, generous portions, warm and pleasant staff. We had dinner and pudding - and really enjoyed ourselves. Atmosphere was lovely - save for the lights flicking in and between dim and brighter. Overall really happy with the experience

Enjoyed cod & chips for lunch. Piping hot washed down with a fine Sussex Ale (my wife enjoyed a ginger beer). Served within 10 minutes of placing our order...it is a very popular pub at lunchtime ...parking is problematic so early arrival is recommended!

We went on a Friday and had the most splendid waitress. We were a party of allergies, vegans, vegetarian and meat eaters. Oh and a dog. She made all of us including the dog feel really welcome. The food matched the waitresses standard, ensuring we all walked home satisfied and really happy. Dog had icecream. As it was international irish coffee day, they went out of their way to make a lovely irish coffee.

Gorgeous old pub with great food. Steak was exceptional, great selection of beers. Even better setting, lots of character.

A beautiful little tiny pub in the country. Very popular and very busy. Staff and service is outstanding. Great drinks selection and food brilliant. Truly an English country experience to enjoy.

A very small pub, but so dark the menu was hard to read. With the old lights fading in and out. The food was good as were the staff. Very popular pub.

Booked the tables at the back of the pub for 17 people this week-end. Service was amazing as was the food. A real gem of a place with great character in Ashdown Forest. Perfect for our lunch. Highly recommended.

Called into the Hatch whilst visiting the area. I only had chips but the black cherry, coconut fool was delicious! Very friendly bar lady as soon as I walked in the door. Made to feel welcome.
