Had a wonderful Sunday lunch. In fact, it's the best Sunday lunch in The Forest of Dean.

What an amazing tour. The mine and history is fascinating. Richey, the tour guide was brilliant, a real font of knowledge which was delivered with passion and humour. He even thrilled our two teenagers who really enjoyed the experience. I would recommend booking because if you miss this, you have missed a treat!

Absolutely loved this tour into the mine. We were a group of six with four children and the guide was excellent at sharing information in a way that covered adults and children. He also gave a chance for the children to ask all their questions and the whole experience is a real memory-maker.

Great tour down the mine to learn about the coal industry. Lots of history and information along with a cool guide. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone in the area. Wear good shoes as the walk down and up are steep!

Never had a bad experience at the Cafe: Sunday Roast, breakfast or a variety of very good cakes/puddings across weekends and week days (at various times). Very popular with locals work men, walkers, cyclists and OAP who know get value for money generous home cooked food with generous portions. Not a frozen anything in sight!. Coffee sometimes a bit weak for my taste (when I have forgotten to say I like a strong black) but I have always found them very accommodating when asked. Any fads or hates talk to them I know they will try and accommodate if they can. Will always try to accommodate walkers with dogs inside or out if they can . Friendly helpful staff

Absolutely fantastic. As someone who is slightly claustrophobic I was a bit nervous about this experience but there was absolutely no need to be. As you walk down towards the coal face the path is pretty steep and I had to stoop my head for some of it but when we got to the coal face, which is where we spent most of our time, it was high enough for us all to stand up. Really interesting and a good laugh. I would definitely recommend.

A hidden gem of the Forest of Dean! We weren't quite sure what to expect, but ended up thoroughly enjoying every minute. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a tour that kept everyone (including two under-8s) interested. Safety was taken very seriously, and the whole operation run smoothly. Highly recommended.

Nice cafe, lovely breakfast. Also brilliant underground experience. A good place to stay for a few hours. Even just for a cup of tea or coffee, and if you're lucky enough to chat with the free miner's.

Very friendly service Proper meat and veg portions. Plus more veg. Then if you've managed that there's pudding. Don't expect posh, this is authentic local food. No complaints whatsoever.

Great little tour, very informative. I took my three grandchildren they really enjoyed it and asked questions. Rich who took us down there made it very interesting and chatted to the children. Café was a little old fashioned, but quaint.
