Lovely family run pub with great selection of Ales. Cosy and warm with upgraded garden area with booths with lighting and heating on the colder nights. Reasonably priced food also. Dog friendly pub also.

Nice and friendly pub, welcoming families, pets and neuro-diverse customers equally. Menu looked good but didn't have anything on this occasion. Will return

This pub is tucked down a little lane, which to be honest unless you know it is there you probably wouldn't notice. Have popped in a couple of times a few years back, but not recently. Had noticed that they have a garden so decided to go again and sit outside. Whilst there we then decided to get some food. Food was well priced and good size, and tasted good too. They also have kids meals, but these were £5 which isn't quite as well priced as the adult meals...! They also have plenty of drinks choices, the wife particularly liked the gins. A few craft type beers and proper cider also available. The garden has some beach hut style areas to sit but also picnic benches. Fair bit of space outside. Staff were friendly and were able to recommend drinks which is always nice when your not sure...!

We had a Sunday roast, it was definitely good value for money, a bit of an old man pub but still a good atmosphere and the toffee apple pie is amazing ( struggled cutting the roast potatoes but they tasted great anyway ) .

This is a great pub with lovely staff, tasty beers and delicious, good value food. The lasagne and chicken Madras are favourites along with the Sunday lunch. On top of which it's dog friendly. Top pub!

Easily my favourite pub in the Colchester area. The atmosphere is friendly with a mixed crowd that helps everyone to feel very welcome here. Peter Freeman puts on some fantastic beer festivals and ensures all who visit have a great time. Thanks!

The live and let live is a little treasure tucked away of the main road this traditional estate pub offers excellent food and a really good selection of beers. The garden has had a complete makeover to include heated beach huts that enable external dining undercover (and with heat!!) Friendly staff and great service. well recommended

Great Family run old style pub , many different beers and Ciders. Amazing Food , Especially for the price. Sunday Roast is so popular your best to book first . Lovely Atmosphere and well worth a visit . Great Sun ☀️ trap garden in the Summer. I would Strongly recommend this Pub for a family visit or if on your own you will be welcomed. Very friendly staff, great choice of real beers and flavoured gins. food is delicious, Sunday roast, burgers etc. we loved the Duck noodles but this was only available for a few weeks, this month we tried the katsu chicken curry 🍛... loved it. Booked a cream tea too. I loved the new menu.. salads are great. Duck noodles are back for August yum yum 😋
