Another architectural marvel in the Town centre , Holy Trinity Church is the Colchester’s only surviving Saxon building with a distinctive tower which has survived ages. The Church has the tomb of many prominent figures. This Church is closed now and if I’m correct de-consecrated as well.

Whilst personally not a religious man, I am always impressed with how pretty this little church is. It lies very central in Colchester town, ignored by many who pass by. Today the purple crocuses looked beautiful.
An outstanding Saxon tower, built from local septaria and Roman ruins, best viewed walking up Trinity Street. I could just imagine walking up there, seeing it in Saxon times.
Has an amazing Late-Saxon (early 11th Century) tower with cute arrow-shaped doorway.
