Met a friend for lunch today which was both our first visit here. You have to register your car to park. We sat outside in the marquee was very pleasant. The food was very good & tasty. I had thai green curry & friend had roast beef toasted sandwich. Staff were helpful & friendly.
We had a long wait for our drinks and meals but the manager explained he had a lot of new staff so it was understandable. The food was definitely worth the wait, delicious Sunday roast and good portion sizes.
They discounted the bill to apologise which wasn't really necessary as we weren't disappointed overall. The waitress even refused to take a tip! We'd like to go more often if we get time as it's a nice place to go with the family.
I had visited the Lexden Crown a few times a few years back but hadn't been back in the last few years... until recently. We had some family visit so I booked us a table.
Parking is next to the Lexden Crown and you need to pop your reg number into the tablet when you go in.
Menu has some lovely suggestions, and they have a kids menu. As it was a Sunday I went for a roast dinner. It was a really tasty meal. Had some horseradish with it - lovely, but be careful it's a strong one! The roast also came with a bowl of vegetables. Kids meals were reasonable and they had some kids deserts which they obviously loved!
We all really enjoyed our visit, and will try and make sure we don't leave it so long before visiting again!
So in love with the Pizza here.. had the pulled pork one and it was fresh and tasty.. not only the good food but the staff were friendly and quick in service.. located by the main street and easy to find. Will come here often as this pub just a walk distance from our house
Food was lovely and portion size was perfect. The staff were by far and away one of the best in Essex. They made us feel very welcome and enjoyed a good laugh with our 18 month old toddler who enjoyed teasing the owner. Can highly recommend the takeaway Sunday roast as well!
The team are fantastic, and very helpful. Really great food, relaxing but with fantastic outside covered area. Great choice of beer. I would definitely recommend. Thanks Chris Steel
A beautiful walled garden with plenty of benches and comfy seats. We ordered pork belly and nut roast. Food came relatively quickly and was absolutely delicious. Very good portions too. The veggies were juicy and tender. We don't come very often but it's well worth the occasional visit. Definitely recommend!
Friendly welcome and attentive service, good food - excellent burgers and tasty tiramisu. An unwelcome fly slightly spoilt the evening, but it's a nice place and we will return.
Lovely friendly fun place. Family and dog friendly.
Nice spread put on in the outdoor marquee for a wake today. Good cross section of buffet food and drinks of various sorts to cater for what looked like around 100 people in pleasant and relaxed setting.
We had my wife's 40th birthday party at the lexden crown tonight and wow we are so grateful to all the staff. What an amazing place. The host and all the staff were brilliant. There were 25 of us and I know it's difficult to get things right for such a large group but literally everyone loved their food and it tasted amazing and the service was 10/10. Thank you to lexden crown and all the staff for making it such a special night.
Vegan roast dinner was delicious- they even had vegan Yorkshire puddings! Only thing missing is as a vegan cauliflower cheese!
Went to a wake and our family and friends had a very cool outside area under cover, perfect for our gathering . The buffet was very tasty and staff pleasant
1st time visit had a delicious meal for valentines day, made to feel welcome.... however sadly not a real pub more of a restaurant feel... snug where you have to sit with dog was cold so had to leave 🥶 shame as only staying 5 min walk away 🙄 maybe try the garden room next time when weather improves...
