Have always loved it here since I was little; though now as a grown up, I love it even more. Always been great when I go with my family and have organised several work do's there now and the staff have always been so incredibly helpful and accomodating! Special mention to Pascal who made a meal for 30 plus people, all with special requirements, run smoothly. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Myself, my little boy, Mum and Nan travelled up from Cambs & Herts to see my sister who lives in Colchester for her birthday. Easy booking online, seated straight away, really attentive and friendly staff, made an effort to speak to my little 20 month old also. they dished my sons food first as takes a while to eat, thoroughly impressed with the childrens menu. Our waitress was very thorough with taking our order and making sure we were all happy. All of our food was very tasty and enjoyable, no faults at all, apart from mum & nan saying there was too much ha ha. Definitely recommend and will be back again another time when next visiting. .

Ate at this beefeater while staying at the Premier Inn next door. The staff were lovely and friendly although they were very busy so getting a table took a little while. The menu is standard across all beefeaters now but the food was cooked well and all served very quickly. The breakfast was very good and all items perfectly cooked (I know it's all down to personal taste but they nailed it for me). Overall a good experience and well worth a try if you're in the area.

Most enjoyable experience. The food was great and the staff looked after us. There is a disabled / baby change toilet of reasonable size and layout. Parking is a bit of a squeeze, but there are several disabled bays

The staff were amazing, but I've noticed that they always seem to be short staffed at the moment which causes delays in being served, and restrictions on menu items. The team were so friendly and polite, and went above and beyond. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was really good. If there were more staff, then it would definitely be five stars. I will be contacting head office as a few of these restaurants have been in the same situation lately, so not sure if management are cutting staff or something, but it does impact the service.

Under staffed today but excellent service from the waitress and superb food from the chef on his own, piping hot and served quickly.

Another family evening out at TAB Colchester. Nice food, good customer service. Always enjoy the chargrilled prawn.

Great food and the waiting staff were brilliant. There was a bit of a long wait due to staff sickness and only 2 chefs, but we weren't in a rush. The only downside was the manager on that night was quite abrupt and hardly smiled the 2.5 hours we were there. I know they were stressed, but it doesn't take much to crack a smile.

We decided to try here for a change as you get more bang for your buck. Good selection of cereals, pastries and bread items, fruit & yoghurt. Coffee Good. OJ not so much. Looked and tasted like watery squash. I did see it being topped up from a carton though. Others had the apple and cranberry juices which were good. Another note, the toasters take AGES but at least you have better control.

Was a busy Saturday only 2 staff that we saw. Very helpful just very under it. Food great, drinks took 25 mins to come some after the meal for the second round.... apart from being under staffed was a great place and nice food

I don't know why this place has low rating. Though it was a Friday night and we had no reservation, the gentleman at the reception found us a nice comfortable table for 3 persons. The food (2 ribeye steaks and 1 mixt grill plate + some starters) was more than good for its prices. The service was up to the standard (for a busy Friday night) with personnel never losing their smile and good manners. And though we were by foot, there is free parking for customers, I think. Recommended.
