Brilliant breakfast. I was anxious as it was 10.40am but Ty ensured everything was available for us. His warm and friendly manner put me at ease and nothing was too much trouble. Ty really made the experience enjoyable, thank you Ty! Great value for money too.
Our 2nd visit to this cavary, been to others and we've really enjoyed this one in Colchester. We've Just finished our meal, Food was delicious, so full up. Lovely place to come eat. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming, from the chefs cooking the great food, to the staff at the entrance and our server today Georgia. Lovely girl, couldn't do enough for us and those she was waiting on around us. Would recommend and will visit again!
It was quite busy and although we had booked, we had to wait about 15minutes but this wasn’t a problem.
There was a long queue for the carvery but there were 4 servers and the queue moved relatively quickly.
Food was delicious
Been here for both Breakfast & Dinner. Breakfast was delicious, everything you need only nuance is the unlimited coffee I’d prefer a machine rather then the filter coffee but that’s just me.
The Sunday Roast is good if it’s not busy..if it is busy..it goes downhill quite rapidly. We sat in a cubicle and people were queuing up for their dinner but also watching us eat. It put me off really.

As carvery restaurants go, my Sunday roast was superb value for money, a plesent atmosphere and helpful staff. My booking was for 1pm and although the carvery was already very busy, we were taken directly to our table and were able to order drinks and start within minutes of arrival. We weren't hurried or asked by staff to vacate our table until we had finished all of our food and drinks. In all about 2 and a half hours after arrival and considering how busy it was this was plesently surprising. The waitress was very polite and helpful, with just a few interventions to ask if everything was in order and if there was anything else that we wanted. The food was piping hot and there was plenty of veg to help ourselves to. All together a very nice Sunday dinner.
The service from Kieran was excellent and we received a warm welcome when we entered the restaurant.
Food was delicious, but the roast potatoes were not as well roasted and crispy as usual.
I was surprised since my last recent visit the price seems to have shot up! I thought a couple of weeks ago it was £8.50 a head ~ I believe now it is £10.95. That is over a 20 percent rise, I appreciate inflation etc; however, that seems extreme. Unfortunately, that's a bit much now, as I always pick the bill up with adult children it adds up.
Furthermore, not all the vegetables are there, all the time.
We came for the lunch time calvery for my daughters birthday. Definitely the better time of day to go. The food was fresh loads of choice and portion sizes as always are great. The only thing that every time annoys me is only having 1 calver. It makes the ques horrendous you are waiting ages in line for ages. Elderly who can't stand for long and people with young children and people with Disabilities it can be very stressful and having people bump into you with hot food it's an accident waiting to happen. I really believe having two calvers on would ease this issue greatly.
Once again thank you for the wonderful service and delicious food
Visited Colchester Toby Carvery this afternoon, food was absolutely amazing, there was not one thing on my plate which wasn’t enjoyed, roast potato’s were incredible! Big shout out to Kelsey who was our waitress who was extremely helpful and a really happy. will definitely visit again.😄
Great place, good pub style atmosphere, friendly staff and good food.
Booked table, polite welcome, good choice of meats and vegetables. Drinks waiting on table when we returned from serving. Check in by staff mid meal on how things were. Busy venue but not rushed.
