Just stopped in here for a Sunday roast as I always see posts from this place. Took a drive over and had the best beef roast... certainly helped with the headache (ahem hangover)!! Lovely setting and great staff. I’ll definitely be back!!

We visited yesterday with very specific requirements, the staff were kind polite and incredibly helpful couldn't not have asked for a better service and understanding plus going that extra mile.... Beautiful place.

I booked a table for my Mums birthday Tuesday of this week, have been before as they do provide a good selection of gluten free foods which my Dad has. However all 6 of us that went had one of the best nights out we have had in some time. The waitress was outstanding,we could not have asked for more, mum was also treated to a drink on the house at the end of the night-so a big thank u for making our night so special.

If it wasnt for the fact that a friend was taken here, and in turn took me, i doubt the 'Five Bells' is somewhere i would have found on my own. In the quiet village of Colne Engaine hides this real gem of a place serving great food and drink and a warm welcome. I have been on about 4 occasions now and each time made sure a tried something different on the menu. To date i have still not been dissappointed with any of the food on offer, and have enjoyed the quality of the wines they serve. The prices are also very reasonable in my mind, which means being able to treat yourself a little bit more often!

After getting passed the front door, and the 'you're not from round these parts arrrrre uuuuuuuuu?' types who were stood at the bar, I had a really nice time here. It's a really charming pub, with very friendly staff and delicious food. I had the rabbit stew, which was delicious. It's the kind of pub that you could hole up in on a cold wintery day, but enjoy cold beers in the summer too.

It was my first time Five Bells. My friends were hosting the quiz there that evening. We were greeted with a smile and were immediately taken to our table in the area where the quiz was. Few things on the menu aren't available but that didn't matter. We picked fish and chips. This was a good choice, such big portions. Really lovely food and the service was quick and super friendly.

Took the family for a meal on our first night of glamping. As a party with 5 children, we know it can get quite loud. Wait staff were brilliant, lovely efficient, and very helpful. The food was delicious, the chicken wing starter and pigs in blanket were a highlight. Main course went down well, but the biggest highlight was dessert. We were grateful for the non dairy option which was definitely enjoyed by my lactose free husband. Will definitely visit again.

We went on a night they had a quiz on, so it was a little noisy. Whilst we didn’t officially take part in the quiz, it added a bit of fun to the evening. This is definitely a locals pub, with several of them plotted up at the end of the bar “holding court” they certainly liked you to know what they were talking about!!

Really like this place, it's recently changed owners and the new ones have come up revised menu and better prices. Right now it's a bit quiet but I hope if things carry on as they are more people find this great little village pub.

A beautiful pub set over rolling countryside we were made very welcome by the friendly staff. We came for roast dinner and were very happy. The portions were generous and the food was very good, particular highlights were the perfectly cooked beef, the gravy and the sweetest chantenay carrots. The pub has a carpark to the front and easy access for disabled, however it is on a fair slope and so wheelchair users may struggle but only because of the gradient because access is good. There are very clean and modern toilets tucked away. We are looking forward to returning and enjoying the pub further very soon.

Lovely country pub. The manager and team were very attentive. Lovely and clean, good range of drinks and the food was amazing. Read some reviews on here that are less than flattering and god knows where they went but is wasn’t here. Well done and will definitely be back. Nice that a pub and restaurant can combine.
