Popped in for a drink as we where passing by. We will definitely be going back here for a meal. Lots of history to the building, lovely beer garden with a beautiful pond to sit by. The landlady was very friendly and welcoming. The food looked really good and everyone around us who was eating was very complimentary about their meal.

Have enjoyed sitting in the garden a few times recently. It's very clean and tidy with very nice furniture and feels relaxing! There's plenty of space and a lovely ambience. Inside has lots of different areas and its quite cosy.Especially in the winter when the log burners are alight! There is a large conservatory which is lovely and light and very nice to dine in, but there's lots of dining areas in the Pub and a good menu. Lovely service from Emma !

Excellent pub. Went along for a family meal. Didn't stay in the rooms so can't comment. Lovely meal of very good quality. Dropped a star as I didn't find any meringue in the Peldon mess and was not keen on double clotted cream on top , but that is just my preference. Also, the sound of a door bell ringing every so often was annoying. These were just small things as we have been back since . Staff were very friendly and efficient. Would always return to this pub when in the area.

Decided to give it another try, popped in for lunch so cannot comment on the rooms. Was met and taken to a nice table in what is a conservatory, entrance and bar area very much 17c lovely . The pub has a rich history. Menu is varied and caters for GF. The young girl serving us was helpful and friendly. Food arrived reasonably quick and was nice. Only let down but was rectified quickly was ordered a burger no cheese, but came with it, lucky it was mostly attached to the bacon topping, new bacon arrived in minutes. I am sure we will be back, quicker than the 45 years from our first visit.

Love to stop at the Peldon Rose Inn for a drink or to eat. Wonderful location, and beautiful outdoor seating or cosy interior. Staff and locals are friendly. Prices are good and lots of space. Highly recommend pub with great food.

Our favourite eating place. Fish and chips are the best. As my husband has a walking frame plenty of room for him. Love the Lake with the fish. Very restful surrounding.Always book for birthdays and anniversary.

Didn't stay here but did pop in for a drink on the way back from a cycle ride to Mersea. Lovely old pub in prominent position just outside Mersea. Nice garden and good selection of drinks. Looked like a good menu as well, so may well be back to try it.
