One of the best Curry restaurants in Colchester. It was simply superb. Highly reccomend this place if you're looking for a truly authentic cuisine and experience. I also felt it was incredibly reasonably priced as well. The service from the staff was friendly, bubbly and simply second to none as well!
We chose to visit this restaurant during our stay in Colchester due to the reviews. We fancied a curry and saw this restaurant online alongside its good reviews and so chose to book here. We phoned up and asked for their availability to which we were accommodated with whichever time we desired. The staff were extremely happy, helpful, and lovely to talk to during our stay. Very accommodating for my partners dietary requirements which is always a bonus! 10/10 would recommend and look forward to visiting here again in the future!
I’ve had chicken tikka biriyani and chargrilled chicken last week from this restaurant. I was going here for the first time, so I wasn’t aware of pre-booking to dine in. The staff was well behaved and offered us a table for few hours, which was actually enough 😇. Chicken Tikka Biriyani was so heavenly 🫶 awakened my taste buds after so long, to be honest. It was spicy like how i asked them to prepare, served with raitha. The biriyani costs around £12 - £13, but the taste was worth the money!
The chargrilled chicken was on point with hot sauce and costs around £4.50 - £5, with a good portion of medium spicy chicken. Do recommend a visit to all the biriyani lovers (mention them if you want it more spicy or not)

The staff are brilliant and the restaurant has been decorated beautifully setting a fantastic atmosphere! I have become a regular at this restaurant after being made to feel so welcome by the Owner, the Manager and all staff that work there! You all play a massive part in making this restaurant amazing and it shows by how many tables are always occupied when I come in!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Maharani, an Indian restaurant in Colchester, and it was nothing short of a regal experience. From start to finish, Maharani exceeded my expectations in every way.
The ambiance of the restaurant is elegant, with tasteful decor that transports you to the heart of India. The soft lighting and soothing background music create a perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal.
Mango Lassi were the perfect sweet endings to our meal.

This was the third time I've eaten here in recent weeks. Great food, which is freshly cooked to order. Really friendly staff, especially the manager. It's small and we ate early hence only four stars for atmosphere. If there's a better Indian in Colchester I haven't visited it. My wife and son raved about it as well.
So so so so so brilliant. The interior and attention to detail is beautiful. The food is absolutely incredible, so reasonably priced and so delicious. Very generous portions. The staff are also brilliant, really friendly and attentive. Definitely one of my new favourite restaurants in Colchester

Food is excellent, high quality, lovely spices, tastes so fresh and overall as good as a curry gets. I am fussy curry eater looking for the best and recommend this as a very good curry.

Coming from Telugu states, we always crave for Biryani. And, I couldn’t think of a better place in colchester to satisfy my cravings. The taste is so authentic and spicy. I really loved it . It will be always my go to place from now. Good ambience and a top notch service.
Delicious high quality indian cuisine. If you want to taste real Indian/Bangladeshi traditional food I must recommend this restaurant. During my 2-week visit in Colchester for my research training, almost everyday I took dinner at this place. I loved their Biriyani plates and Maharani Specialities (chicken items). The price is affordable. The ambiance is super nice, comfortable and homely. Last but not the least, staffs are awesome, friendly and welcoming.
Highly recommended restaurant if you are traveling to Colchester. Here you will get awesome food and wonderful staff.
Special mention to the the owner and the manager who was able to arrange for table when we went without any pre reservation.
