Excellent food and service. There is a great selection on the menu and the staff are happy to give their recommendations. Best Chinese restaurant in the area. Would definately recommend to friends and family. Would recommend the ice cream for dessert especially the elderflower and stem ginger! Will be back soon!!

Tuesday was the fourth time recently that with friends & family I have eaten at the Banquet Chinese & thoroughly enjoyed each occasion. The food selection & tastes are alway so good, & the staff most helpful I’m sure that we will be back very soon.

Great dining chinese experience. Went here for coz I was craving for dim-sum . environment was lovely with a garden setting that is perfect in summer. Food wise was excellent specially the roast duck and deep fried squid. Hearty soup bursting with umami flavour! Great restaurant for family gathering and dates❤️
Food was excellent and staff were very efficient and helpful with knowing how much food to order.
It was very busy and as a result it was quite loud since the restaurant is so open plan. 'Not ideal if you have a hearing aid' - (Grandma)
I would recommend going at a quieter time but the food is top tier and they have lazy susans which are always fun

Me and a friend with our partners had a nice meal but chilli beef was so crunchy we left most of it. And was asked to leave our table after paying promptly. Was offered vouchers but haven't received them 😢just turned up in our post thank you. Never had a problem before but thought they would like to know about staff. Lovely otherwise.
I just love this place. Its like slipping to Asia for a couple of hours. The food is outstanding and consistently so. Never been disappointed and the staff are always helpful. Early booking is advised though. I had a takeaway a couple of weeks ago and it was so good. My grandchildren devoured it.

Tastefully decorated with very good service from the waiters.
Had Tim Sum with some family members and most of the dishes are tasty and served hot. Got a 30% discount for every Monday till Dec 2018. Very good value for money!

Fabulous evening here for my daughters special birthday. Delicious food very attentive staff but not intrusive. We were quite a large party and the manager came over and recommended certain things taking the stress and worry away from me. Comfortable seating and lovely atmosphere. Staff couldn’t do enough for us. Would highly recommend.
After my previous entry of a disappointing dim sum place; my family found ourselves in Colchester with a recommendation to Banquet Chinese as a ‘must go.’
We arrived and was welcomed by friendly staff and a restaurant that was bright, airy and comfortable. After being seated, we chose all our favourites for dim sum and waited in anticipation. The food did not disappoint and it was hard to find fault anywhere! Each mouthful was delicious and were accompanied with happy head nods after each bite.
Check this out if you’re a dim sum fan! This would definitely become our regular Sunday eatery if we lived in the area!

The Banquet is a delicious dim sum parlor with everything you'd want to satiate those Chinese food cravings.
Inside, the interiors is made to look traditional Chinese. On a Saturday lunchtime, the restaurant was not too busy and we were able to find a table with no waiting time at all.
Service was pretty quick and the food was delicious, arriving streaming hot as one would expect.
I have no complaints whatsoever and, I can verify that The Banquet as a good choice for dim sum for the whole family and groups of friends to enjoy.
