The Company Shed - Colchester - Photo album

The booking, ordering crabs and oysters ahead of time was easy and handled well. It’s VERY tiny and has one stove with an open window to vent and one VERY hard-working cook with a ragtag crew, BUT STILL one of the best food experiences ever. The über-fresh crab, shrimp, oysters were utterly amazing
Simply - truly fantastic seafood. For info, they now sell beer and wine but you can still BYO. More importantly, they now require BOOKINGS. Without one they'll try and fit you in but you're risking a wasted journey. Lots of review and rating websites still say no booking allowed. Ps apologies for
So simple, great seafood done really well! BYOB (and bring some nice bread! They have rolls but they're not great)... Check high tide times before driving onto island though! We got stuck for an hour!
Always a special fish foodie place to go. The addition of braaied King prawns to the menu was my favourite. Had that nice smoky char flavour.
Popped in for cockles and anchovy fillets to takeaway and was looked after by an extremely friendly and engaging lady who went out of her way to offer a smaller amount of Anchovies to suit by budget and appetite... Thank you very much, and I will definitely be back because of how I was engaged even
Very much a spit and sawdust fish restaurant. Amazing staff, who are friendly and welcoming, plus helpful when choosing from the menu or specials. An array of locally caught produce. If you love delicious fish, crabs and lobster, served in a rustic and honest fashion come here. Note, they now have a
AMAZING! Unreal food - Cant wait to come back! Fresh food, great value for money, local oysters and wine! Lola was lovely, welcoming and funny as!
Excellent bubblu service with a smile, authentic experience and top notch seafood with quick service. It is extremely rustic, so wear warm clothes in winter. Only thing for improvement was the smell of bleach from cleaning the floors - good to know it's clean, but a scented one would be better!
Went for breakfast today, hands down the best seafood I've ever had, the sea salt and garlic mayo is amazing and the prawns so easy to peel. The staff were welcoming and accommodating and food was served in good time. Will definitely be back!x
We drove there from Clacton not too far No parking spaces at all but not the fault of the place itself as it’s very busy there We got some oysters 🦪 and we want to go back and sit in next time
Wow! We visited The Company Shed on a recommendation and we were very impressed. We had the Crab platter, garlic grilled lobster, tiger prawns, scallops and oysters. What a treat! We will definitely be returning :)
The seafood was fab! Fresh & delicious. We had pre booked over a week in advance. Unfortunately, we were seated on an outside table, right on the kerbside without any shade on a very sunny hot day. When we asked to be moved we were told nothing was available - fully booked. The service was slow & un
Visiting Mersea for the weekend and was real excited to try the Company Shed. Happy to say that everything we'd read is true, the food is amazing. High quality seafood cooked with love. We ordered a lot of food for takeaway which cost about the same as a Nandos but was much more special. Ordered aro
Rode to The Company Shed from London just to try the seafood as they have excellent reviews. Pleased to say they 100% deserve 5star rating as someone complained about their prices i have to say you get what you pay for and in my opinion worth the price. Staff are very nice too. One other biker i
