Fabulous food with wonderful service. Visited for Sunday lunch. Had nachos with chicken as a starter which was so big it could have been a main meal but really scrummy. Followed by a delicious roast Turkey dinner which I couldn’t fault. Vegetables tasty and cooked to perfection and meat very tender.
A long established eatery with a great reputation. We booked at 1pm Saturday... Very busy as expected. Service was excellent and food was amazing quality. Will definitely return to sample more items from the menu.
Unfortunately the Ploughmans is no longer on the menu 😩 But my disappointment at being unable to try it soon disappeared - the food and service here is excellent, highly recommend.

Went to the wooden fender for Sunday dinner. What a great place. Staff and service spot on. The food was amazing not a fault to be had. A++++
Myself and the family had booked this little beauty of a restaurant some months back now.
On entering the restaurant we were greeted with smiles and the warmth of a fire and seated to our table.
We all ordered our drinks which came out promptly and then followed by the food order.

OMFG ... What an amazing Sunday Roast 🤪 Stuffed 🤪 delicious food, very promptly served. Welcoming and efficient staff. A little gem 🤩 we were lucky to get in as we hadn't booked, but there were just 2 of us, so we squeezed in. Definitely advise booking for Sunday, totally worth it .
One of the best restaurants for miles around. Been here multiple times, never disappoints.
Food is fantastic and priced fairly, good selection of beers on tap, and service is second to none. 10/10 would recommend to anyone, perhaps not for younger children tho.
Came here for dinner yesterday and the service was great. Staff super friendly and didn’t have to wait ages for food to come out. Food was lovely nice big portions. Only downfall is there isn’t much on the gluten free menu.
