This restaurant in a historic 15th century building, is worth a visit. We went on a Sunday and had the roast. This is one of the best Sunday roasts I've had in the UK. I had the white bait starter and stuffed pork belly as a main. Both were superb and the portions are generous. Worth a visit.
First time visiting and wasn't disappointed. Big group of 14 people for a family birthday was well looked after by the friendly head of house and her team.
No incorrect or missing orders.
Steak's were all cooked too perfection.
Service overall was excellent.
Was seated on a big table next to an open
Lovely place, excellent service and food
Was well worth 100 mile round trip.
Great service from friendly staff.
Good food. Good atmosphere
This is a go to for us, usually for special occasions, and the staff are welcoming, they go above and beyond, you have the history of the building which is great, and the lounge area is comfortable too if you’re not eating, as well as some outside space.
This place is absolutely great! Lovely staff, beautiful old building inside and outside and the food is amazing! The lamb shank was to die for, as was the chocolate and Guinness cake with chocolate custard! Huge portions, decent prices and a big car park at the back. Will definitely be coming back h
Food was definitely better than expected.
Fantastic beautiful restaurant with such a history. So beautiful inside with the gorgeous beams and service was excellent and the Lamb Shank we had was cooked to perfection. I will definitely go there again. I thoroughly recommend it as I think the best in Colchester
Amazing food & service at the Siege House Colchester we ste there on Saturday, party of 4. Scallops were cooked perfectly followed by succulent pigs cheeks. The desserts didn't disappoint a great way to finish. Service was great without being overbearing we all enjoyed our evening thankyou.
Firstly the venue is lovely and so we're the staff, cheerful friendly but profesional. The blot on our visit was the starter..chicken wings. They were very nice, but served on a ridiculously small plate. You couldn't use a knife or fork as it was too small, and picking them up your hands got in such
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You gave my partner a beautiful birthday meal. And the extra touch of translating a birthday message was outstanding 🥹

Great afternoon tea with a large selection of sandwiches, scones, and cakes. The food was so copious that we had no chance of eating it all. They were well-prepared and provided boxes for us to take the leftovers home.
The location is very historic with Tudor beams, although take care is you're tal
Biggest Sunday lunch I ever had cooked to perfection.(roast beef).
Next time I will skip starters and make room for dessert, can't fault anything good friendly service.
This place is full of character a 17th century half timbered french style building proudly displaying the original musket shots from the era. But more importantly the food doesn’t let the surroundings down. Offering European food with a modern English twist.
