We love this place! Fantastic friendly service and quality food. One of the best Japanese restaurants in Colchester in terms of authenticity it’s hard to beat. The restaurant fit out is not 5 star but the reasonable pricing is probably why. If it was expensive then you would probably expect a higher end finish inside but I love it how it is. Great food at a reasonable price. Keep up the good work.

The place is nice. The service is mediocre but the food is tasty and well cooked. Had a juice called Ramune but was not impressed and after I've read the label I'm not going to order it again. With the food completely different story. Tasty well cooked, the rice was wonderful in my opinion. Started with the Miso Soup which you have to give it a try, it's simple and nice. Overall I would recommend it. I've only tried chicken but if you are a fish person I think this place is not going to disappoint

WOW + WOW = WOWOW! Loved it! First visit last night (1310/21) and my wife and I loved it! The service was good, things were clean, including the toilets, the staff very engaging and helpful. The food was out of this world. We can't wait to go back and try some more dishes. A BIG 5 STARS!

Nice little Japanese restaurant in Colchester. Overall food is pretty decent. Tried some sushi and also the chicken katsu curry. Not quite 5 star because the curry was a bit fatty and luke warm but overall still very good. The sushi was great.

Pretty good Japanese restaurant. The service was fast and the food was very good. Had to knock off one star as although the prices are what you'd expect to pay in a mid tier restaurant £20 per head), the decor simply does not match and the tables are arranged in a grid like school desks or some kind of canteen. You've really got to enjoy Japanese food to come here. I'll probably go again but dress down more next time.

Amazing food and service as usual. My favourite authentic Japanese restaurant. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Some people say it’s expensive but it’s not, it’s high quality and worth every penny. Far from the commercial chains this restaurant gives you high quality fresh authentic Japanese food perfectly executed and delivered with excellent service. Love Aburi for sure

We love this restaurant and have been visiting since it first opened. But with 3 young kids we really don't get to eat out very often so when Aburi started doing delivery, hubby and I are over the moon. Yes, it's not the cheapest but Japanese food is often more expensive in this country. Nice generous portions and very authentic taste (I am oriental so I should know). If you eat in, the service is always very friendly and we have never had any problems with our deliveries either. Highly recommend this place 💕

Great fish quality and very nice service although £45 for platter of sashimi and 2 rolls was a little bit expensive. It was a “chef choice” set but still... Me and my partner needed to order more cause we were still hungry.

This was my first time in a traditional Japanese restaurant and the quality of the food and service were fantastic. I ordered the Japanese rice, Tori Kara which was deep fried chicken and chicken Yakitori which is chicken skewers with soy sauce. The portion sizes were perfect as I was looking for a filling, but tasty lunch. Prices were also really fair with everything in the picture including a glass of mango and papaya juice costing me less than £15 in total. Personally believe this is one of the hidden gems in terms of restaurants in Colchester.

The new decor is great and means there is usually a table now. Although it was pretty packed when we got there! The food is even more visually stunning now with new tableware, and it is its usual high quality. High quality 10/10
