Just had a fabulous anniversary meal at Ranfields Brasserie, the chorizo and king prawn risotto was amazing! Roast rib eye of beef was gorgeous, and the chocolate fondant was to die for! Superb lunch yesterday. Tastecard on the a la carte was fantastic value. Scallops to start. I had salmon main and wife had cod main. All washed down with a French sav blanc. Then we had puds. I had the chocolate fondant and wife chose the earl grey ice cream. What a treat. Highly recommended

My fiancé and I had an amazing meal here last night. Despite living in he village, I had never been. We were nicely greeted upon our arrival and our coats were hung. We had a drink at the bar whilst deciding our choices from the superb array of menu choices. Whilst doing so we were given canapés and chose to have some olives. I had the scallops and lobster pana cotta to start which was divine. However, I did have food envy over my other halfs squid. We both had a middle course of soft shell crab as recommended by my fiancé as it is one of his favorites. I then had the ox cheek as my main. I had never tasted this before and it was simply divine. Tender, and super tasty. My other half chose the tuna steak which was cooked to perfection. We shared a cheese board to finish.
The service was impeccable. The staff were attentive, yet not overpowering. It was a pleasure to see them waiting patiently in the wings so to speak for when they could be of service, and not just hiding in the bar on their phones.
I cannot fault our dining experience at all and I look forward to many more occasions when we dine here. Well done and thank you x
Having been here many times before - we wasn’t disappointed ! Both our starters and Mains were delicious especially the Jacobs ladder - couldn’t fit pudding in so opted for coffee to finish our meal - discovered a new wine too ! The table next to us had the special which looked fantastic so will hope they have that on the menu on our return! We actually had a voucher that someone had bought us - unfortunately this had recently expired but the lovely manager honoured this and we were able to enjoy our gift towards the final bill !
First time I had been since the change of owner and must say I felt it was a lot better. I always felt let down by a dish every time in the past but all 3 courses were great. Front of house is a lot warmer and friendly than before. Will be back sooner now.
Thank you very much. This was our third visit and we were not disappointed. Excellent food, tasty and fresh, we couldn't fault anything. Fabulous wine list and the staff are attentive and professional, but also friendly and warm. Nothing was to much trouble, we will be back.
Excellent food at a not unreasonable cost, good atmosphere and friendly attentive service, perfect. In the internet black hole in the centre of Coggeshall they even gave me their wi fi password.
God where do I start....We end up here quite often simply because the food is AMAZING!!! Faultless, tasty, well presented ,delicious and pure yummy.
I can't recommend ranfields enough. Jon boy is a fantastic chef, as are his staff. Sarah is just delightful always a cracking welcome.

Had a very lovely meal here. The menu has a wide range of choice with a vegetarian menu too. Food was tasty, staff friendly, decor good.
Revisited last night and the food was even better! The vegetarian menu is the best I've seen anywhere and probably too much choice if you're like me and can't make a decision! But we've said we'd go back for lunch to have the other options! They do a very reasonable fixed price menu available evenings and lunch which is worth checking out. The decor and ambiance is good and for a Thursday night most of the tables were full! We used a travel zoo voucher when we went but to be honest the fixed price menu looked just as good. Parking either right outside on the street or there's a village car park behind the houses opposite which is free.
Ate here for lunch today. The food was extremely good and the waiter was friendly and welcoming. The fish and Ox cheek were delicious! A great lunch.
Found this place thanks to our Gourmet society card. Had a great evening celebrating our anniversary here. The atmosphere and surroundings are lovely with wall to wall artwork. Attentive staff serve the very well presented, extremely tasty food. We will be back for more.
Had a brilliant meal here on a Saturday night. Really tasty starters. We had lamb and veal for main. The Lamb was fantastic and the veal was nice but a little over cooked and tough. Really enjoyed the bread and butter pudding desert. One of the best I’ve had. Staff were really attentive and friendly.
Absolutely fantastic meal. The beef fillet melted in the mouth and was delicious. The Eton Mess was divine and expertly presented. Wonderful service and special message to celebrate our anniversary. Will be back soon.

Great food, great service, great night out. Soft shell crabs lovely and filling. Steak beautifully cooked. Chips like roast potatoes, crunchy on outside, soft on inside, perfect.

They showed us what Christmas spirit is! We are in the UK on a short visit, we gathered in a house by their restaurant to only realise our oven doesn't work, meaning the family Christmas Dinner is soon to be ruined. We know how busy the festive season is for hospitality businesses. Yet, they could accommodate a large family on very short notice, with the finest food possible. Very friendly staff and perfect food quality; one of the finest Christmas dinners I had in my life. Together with the home owners, they definitely showed us the Christmas spirit throughout. Thanks to them, our long-awaited large family Christmas gathering was unforgettable! 100% recommended, and we'll definitely come back for a visit.

Enjoyed a lovely Christmas meal here. The food was delicious with great attention to flavours and textures. Courses were not too big including the little Christmas puddings..not too sweet.
Service was excellent and timed so that there were pauses to appreciate the food.
