Five stars is an insult to this hotel as it simply isn't enough. We had our wedding day here on Saturday and from start to finish the staff couldn't do enough to help. They went above and beyond what they had to do and simply wanted to do it. My son fell asleep before the meal and they pulled chairs together got him a pillow and put a jacket over him so he could sleep in the room with us allowing us to carry on with the meal, then kept his food for him for when he woke up. The hotel itself is beautiful has lots of lovely little features that make it Homely and traditional and the grounds are breathtaking. I myself only had a handful of kids there but it was a perfect environment to let them run around outside and not have to worry about them being safe. I honestly couldn't recommend this hotel enough food was amazing rooms were amazing staff were unbelievable and even got to meet the most gorgeous staff member marley dans dog....I just wanted to take him home what a cutie. Anyone wanting somewhere for a wedding, function a stay or even a meal Broughton craggs is the place to go they helped me make some amazing memories and I can't thank them enough.

Since we booked our wedding here in August of last year I can't keep away from the place. We have been for Sunday carvery just us and a few times with the whole family for different occasions and tonight we decided to try the early bird special and it was absolutely beautiful. Both early bird and carvery are good value and really really nice. The venue has recently been redecorated, the views are stunning and the car park is a decent size. The staff are friendly and efficient. Although I haven't stayed there yet I have been shown round the rooms which are lovely too. You really can't ask for more. Roll on September 2018.

Lovely hotel.. lovely gardens with outside seating. Hotel staff helpful and polite. A very home from home feel to the place.. a real open fire in a lovely lounge. lovely candlelit meal and breakfast was lovely. We had a nice room which was cosy and comfortable too.

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. Staff very pleasant and there customer service was excellent, they really couldn't do enough for you. The afternoon tea was delicious and was certainly well worth every penny we even had what we couldn't find room to eat put in a box to take home. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to going back.

A really lovely place to stay. Very comfortable room, excellent food and plenty of it. Also situated in beautiful peaceful surroundings, just my cup of tea. Very handy for visiting my daughter Katharine and her husband Nick who live in the village. Hope to visit some more times.
We’ve Just been for the early bird 3 courses for £10, good selection on the menu and everything was homemade it was beautiful we will definitely be going back

We had afternoon tea at Broughton Craggs today and it was absolutely excellent! Very good value for money, you get so many yummy treats! Much better that a lot of places that charge much more! Highly recommend!

We arrived very late at night. We had missed dinner and were very tired. We were accommodated. We were allowed to still buy drinks at the bar, we were given use of the lounge and were advised how to order take away food ( we could eat in the lounge). Lovely rooms and friendly staff

The building is very impressive and the grounds are lovely.
The best part of our experience was the service we received from Dan. I had made the mistake of booking through a well known online booking service and had filtered for pet friendly hotels but had not confirmed this with the hotel. Dan sorted out our problem in a very accommodating way which was very much appreciated.
We came for the carvery on a Wednesday. At £14 for 2 it is a amazing deal. Great food and a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. They staff are very friendly.
The views to the fells is amazing in summer you must sit outside and take in the views
Popped in on a bleak cold evening for a bite to eat. Staff were more than friendly. Although out of season was more than welcoming. Really friendly went over & beyond to meet our needs. Place was a little run down but added to its charm. Sitting by the open fire was toasty loved it.
The Carvery here is brilliant. Pick from 5 meats, a choice of 2 or Steak pie which is so nice. Then help yourself to 5 veg, stuffing, 3 types of potatoes and gravy. All for a tenner. Can't be beaten
Wednesday special offer is fantastic value for money had a lovely beef dinner tonight the beef was delicious 😋 staff are very polite n friendly keep up the good work Lisa Dan and Caitlyn n the rest of the staff .

A cracking family run hotel. The building and grounds are stunning, and the food is excellent (breakfast and the steak). The rooms are spacious and have excellent facilities. The staff work hard and are all friendly, keen to know where you've been and about your day. We would love to visit again. Sitting outside in the sun is a memory I'll treasure, a stunning view.
Just perfect. A beautiful building is over 200 years old and looks like a palace. Very attractive price, comfortable rooms, excellent location, excellent service.
