Always made welcome great couple running the bar, excellent pub for sky sports they must be at least 15 TV's to choose from, regular live entertainment and the cheapest beer in the lake district.

Great pub located in Cockermouth, food was simple but absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed it. Nicely decorated and plenty of good seating areas, we went with our dog and felt welcome, one of staff members gave her a couple of treats which was nice. Would definitely recommend for a decent lunch and quick drink if in area.

Being from South Africa, their steak&ale pie was probably the best I’ve had in my life. The crust is perfect, the chips even better and the onion sauce must be a secret recipe

Highly recommended. Absolutely outstanding food. Fresh, hot, and plenty of it. Great atmosphere with friendly staff. Ladies toilets are clean and offer Complementary toiletries. Definitely a stand out pub on the high street.

A first visit to Cockermouth for a pint or two. Most pubs shut until late afternoon but Ic and Flic spotted this gem was open. A former Jenning's pub ( taken over by Marston's years ago..who shut the local brewery a few years later.) A good selection of ales. The Cumberland Gold 4% was excellent. The Razorback was a little off so staff happily swapped for a second Cumberland. Lovely pub with friendly customers. Now recovered from the terrible flood of 2009. A 30 min bus ride from Keswick..well worth the trip.

Fabulous pub in the middle of the town. Great atmosphere and fantastic landlady and partner who took time to talk to us, make us feel welcome and give us some ideas of where to see. A definite place to revisit.
