Outstanding experience! Excellent quality food, warm and friendly service from the staff. Already looking forward to our next visit! My friend had the fish cakes & chips, packed with fish and really tasty, and he's from South Shields! I had the double cheeseburger. Quite simply, THEE best quality meat in the burgers I've ever had. Homecut chips were very tasty as well. The prices were very reasonable considering the quality and portions. Cannot recommend this establishment any higher. Visit, you must.

Good food and service. Would have liked a little more steak in the pasta. Seafood pasta was packed.

Two of dined here on a girls night as an end of holiday treat. The staff were so friendly and helpful, it made a special end to our relaxing holiday. All 3 courses were delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was "to die for" and the Sancere white wine was very nice 👌 😀. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Having arrived in Cockermouth in the early evening and finding it a struggle to find somewhere open and serving food, we discovered this gem of a restaurant in the town centre. Once we found our way in (along the side of the river with gorgeous hanging baskets of flowers!) we had a fabulous meal served by friendly and helpful staff. Don’t be put off if it’s very quiet - the food was fresh and homemade, service was prompt and attentive and the coffee was excellent, too! Thank you so much to the team at the Honest Lawyer for restoring us after a very long journey.

Simply excellent! From start to finish this has to be one of our favourite meals out for a long time. The staff were friendly and all wore masks in a covid safe environment. For starters we shared the garlic mushrooms which were delicious and half a pint of lager later, Paul declared this his best starter he's ever had. For mains Paul had the King Prawn linguine which was "top notch" and I had the Feta, Date & Almond Baklava which was to die for. The combination of flavours were exquisite and something I have never had before in England. I would reccommend this dish to anyone. We finished the meal off with a warm brownie decorated with fruit compote and chocolate ice cream and there were no complaints from our side. A wonderful night out with a great riverside setting. We will definitely be coming back again.

We booked late and got in for 6.30 pm. The menu we chose was the Bistro one with 3 courses for £20. 2 courses for £18. I had the aubergine stack as a starter followed by a lentil dish with veg. Both very nice but slightly smaller portions than I eat at home. The triple choc brownie with jersey ice cream was a delightful way to finish off. Karen had the chicken liver pate followed by wild mushroom tagliatelle and topped with the same pudding. All tasty and good service. With a can of Guinness and a tip came to £48. Nice atmosphere. I just need to have an apple before I eat here next time. 😁 By the way the a la carte menu looked good and bigger portions so we know what to do next time!

Lovely food and amazing service. It was a pretty chilly day but Jordan brought us blankets to keep us warm. Jordan was very attentive and made us feel really welcome. He is a great ambassador for your company.

Lovely meal....pigeon and black pudding starter, amazing ! Only criticism our steaks should of been medium rare were cooked medium well but that didn't deter from the taste. Good polite service too.

Didn't have to book. Could sit outside by the river. Food good although peppercorn sauce was underwhelming the steak was tasty. Only four stars as cutlery was brought late and put on the not so clean table and no serviettes.

This restaurant is situated above the bank of the river and is accessed down a few steps and along a metal walkway. Once inside the restaurant us cosy and offers a good selection of well cooked and well prepared and presented food. We turned up without a reservation on the last day of Woolfest. At this time almost everywhere in Cockermouth is busy and a reservation is a good idea. Despite this they squeezed us into their schedule without problems. I had Scotch Egg to start and Special Pasta from the Bistro section of the menu and enjoyed it all
