Lovely cafe within the house. Inside and outside seating available with very friendly and efficient staff. I had a lovely breakfast roll which was packed with 2 Lorne sausage and 2 potato scones which set me up for the day. My wife and daughter had cinnamon and apple scones which they said were delicious. The coffee was also pretty decent too. The lunches that were being served to other diners looked amazing so I will definitely be back to give them a try.

A gorgeous setting, we visited the cafe, food was lovely. Cant book a table so its turn up & wait in the queue if its busy. We didnt find disabled access so the stairs were a bit of a struggle for elderly mum so worth asking ahead of visit. A very pleasant visit & will be returning.

A great place to visit with art, cafe and gardens. Circa 50 concessions privately rented by a variety of artists and artisans. Selling individually and via a combined shop. It even has a history exhibition with various local exhibits.

We did not use the hotel part (had not realised there was a hotel part) walked in the gardens and went to the Flea Market followed by a delightful meal in the cafe. Great shop, super friendly staff in all areas. Overall, it was a lovely day out.

We went for breakfast in the sun on the terrace in The Filly and then took a wander round the allotments. Lovely, local spot!

Place was lovely was there for a wedding evening reception. Parking was not great, lighting from gate to venue was poor also not disabled friendly. Also getting from one venue to marquee had to walk up a grass slope then back again to reception. Partner has to use wheelchair now and again but luckily he was using crutches or this would have been impossible for him to attend.

Spent a couple of hours around Musselburgh and decided to head to Cockenzie for lunch. I hadn't been since the Filly Cafe had been taken over and decided to try a burger and flat white from the van. Great food and very reasonably priced too. The lady serving was really friendly and helpful about what activities are happening around the garden and house. Top marks 👌

Attended the outdoor function. Live music very good. Drinks and food stations were very good. Gardens were well maintained. Didn't get the chance to go inside the house. Maybe on our next visit.

Great place to visit for a takeaway coffee or to sit in. Lovely lunch items available. A good range of coffee options on offer along with scones. Definitely give the bacon and maple syrup scones a go. Edit: have since revisited as now taken over by Cafe Filly. The service was friendly, lots to choose from on the brunch menu. I felt it was a little expensive. We had cheese scone and fried eggs and smashed avocado on sour dough toast (£10). The avocado was well seasoned but was sliced. Not a problem for me but I know some will only eat it mashed. The coffee was nice. The atmosphere and decor was nice but it was a little cold in the room. I will return to see what the rest of their menu is like.

Very pleasant place with lots of interesting businesses based within. We had a look at the café but opted for their food van outside which was more reasonably priced and very efficient. Could do with more signage inside, it's a bit maze-like to the unfamiliar.
