Nice comfortable pub. Good menu. We had the senior menu which is reduced portion sizes. £6.99 for two courses. More than enough for lunchtime. + 2 lattes 1 tea £20.75.

This was my second time coming to the Ship and the second enjoyable experience I have had! So far myself, Husband and friends have enjoyed everything we have tried. I'm looking forward to coming again and trying other dishes. The 2 for £12.99 on pub classics is a fantastic deal and certainly one I'll be making use of next time. Dog friendly too which is a real bonus! There's a kids menu but unfortunately no colouring bits for them which is a shame as there's also no garden or play equipment to keep them entertained.

The coffee was very good and strong. The food was good though my rump steak was a little fatty but tasted good. Staff were friendly and service was quick. They came to the table to take our food order plus sometimes our drinks too.

This dinner was really tasty and great value for money. All the staff were friendly and helpful, including our servers, Terri and Abby. There was also a lovely, relaxed atmosphere in the pub. We were amazed that our 3 course meals and drinks came to £25 per person because they tasted so good! There were plenty of gluten free options too. I chose and enjoyed the halloumi fries, pea risotto with prawns and chocolate fondant. Thank you! We'll be coming back!

What a lovely pub this is, in a lovely village. The waitress who served us was very friendly and, couldn't have been any more helpful. The food was delicious. My mother and I had the beef pie and was what I would expect from a country pub, full to the brim with meat and gravy. The portion sizes were no way shy. My son had chicken strips and helped himself to the gravy off my plate which he said was 'the best gravy ever'. Great value for money. Will be coming back.

Lovely pub in a nice country village. Popped in on the Bank holiday Monday, staff informed us of the few items not available which was not an issue as still plenty on offer. The staff were brilliant, really friendly & informative. We looked through the non alcoholic drinks list which was more extensive than most pubs offerings. We opted for the prosecco & the rose options, both recommended. For food, we ordered the chicken tikka curry which was good. The salt beef burger which was very tasty & the vegan option was the risotto, very fresh & flavourful (only improved if extra bread added). For dessert we ordered the ice cream, caramel/banana waffle which was very nice & the crumble with vegan ice cream (coconut), very nice options. Definitely visit again. Plenty of seating& car parking space available.

The team are a credit to Greene King The food was amazing and all the team are amazing. Myself and my family were in Kent for a holiday as we had come up from Brighton. I highly recommend this pub. Nice 17th century pub with a great atmosphere.

Stopped off here for a bite to eat. I had the Sunday roast with chicken. The place is nice and welcoming, the staff are friendly and polite. Food wise it is fantastic value, with the Sunday roast you get a choice of a free starter or desert. A minor critique but nothing major is that the vegetables that came with the roast ( carrots and cauliflower) were under cooked as they were still a bit hard. But non the less great value and friendly environment.

We had a wonderful and warm welcome on the evening we arrived in our Motorhome. We’d even had a call from the lovely landlady to let us know what time the kitchen closed. We ordered two rump steaks and these were cooked to perfection, served with the usual accompaniments. Definitely a great place to go and one we’ll visit again!

Tasty food with good prices and friendly staff. For a table of 8 it only came to just over £130 for multiple drinks meals and desert. The only down side is walking there can be tough so would recommend driving

I was very impressed. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We ordered a hot lunch and it was lovely and reasonably priced. In the toilets there were complementary sanitary products for women and the baby changing station had nappies, wipes and bags! The pub welcomes dogs also. Highly recommend!

What a lovely atmosphere, staff were very friendly and polite . Value for money with the food and really nice, it’s been over 40 years since I left the village and the Ship inn has not changed that much. Which is great to chill out

So unfair on the few staff, to have to do everything, thus making service slow. Everyone loves The Ship, but so many negative comments about slow service of food. It's not the fault of the staff and yes you prob' need the pub to make more money in order to get more staff. Why not pump in a little more money for staff, before looking at profits, as without extra staff, service cannot improve and you have a high turnover of staff where they are so rushed off their feet. It's not working with such few staff.
