A fabulous breakfast today at Betty May's! I am fussy about bacon and sausages (having grown up in a butty shop!) but yum, yum, yum is all I can say! Delicious and can't wait to visit again - hopefully this week. Lee says the fried bread was outstanding and not many places get it right! Mushrooms were tasty and cooked to perfection. And I can't fail to mention the coffee - I had three! Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing morning. Thank you xx be back very soon.

Enjoyed a delicious and good value breakfast here in this pretty cafe. The owner Mel is super friendly and I loved the decor. We were even allowed to bring our dog in, and he was made a big fuss of too. :) Also bought some Rocky Road to take to my Sisters and we all loved it

Lovely, friendly, clean and welcoming little hide away cafe. Perfect for a slice of delicious home made cake with an excellent cup of tea or coffee. My children have requested we visit for cake every day!!!

Mel runs this local cafe alone as a one woman business with a warm welcome and a lovely atmosphere. There is an extensive take-away and a different eat-in menu (the latter being under review). It’s not haute cuisine, but it’s good basic food, very reasonably priced; Mel was more than willing to adapt the menu to my individual whims, and my plate of scrambled eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms was delicious. There was even reduced sugar marmalade. That’s incredible -never had that offered in a cafe before. Brilliant. It’s very child friendly, relaxed for sitting in, and good for local trades people wanting take out lunches. A notice says that they can’t guarantee that any food is allergen free, or that ingredients might cross contaminate, so this would be worth considering if you have an intolerance. Access is at two levels with steps up to the counter; there’s no problem for people with limited abilities being seated on the lower level and Mel would willingly come down to take an order. The only issue would be that there are no accessible washing or toilet facilities. My only slight criticism would be the wait between ordering and eating: as a one woman outfit, she was rushed off her feet and constant interruptions delayed cooking my food: not ideal if you’re on a limited timetable. But that apart, I would highly recommend this local cafe.

I work round the corner and like to visit Betty May's when I fancy treating myself to some home made cakes and sandwiches. The food is amazing, the staff are so friendly and overall its a sweet little cafe for anyone who loves a good cuppa.

Best breakfast in clitheroe, always have it to take away, you have to wait for your breakfast a bit because is made on the moment but the result is stunning! Everything is fresh and very cheap for its quality! Love it!
