I first went there ages ago then again last summer when a friend from Spain was staying with me. I go geocaching so we were doing the drive-by set through the Trough of Bowland as Val had a new hip and wasn't up to walking much. We stopped here on the way as I knew the shop and the cafe are so good, sat outside then and had wonderful tea and (I think) scones with jam and cream. I'd had some fruit cake on my previous visit, it's homemade by the gentleman who works there (not sure if he owns it) and it is absolutely the best fruit cake in the world! Yesterday I went to Slaidburn via Dunsop Bridge and on the way back it was another pot of Earl Grey and yes, you guessed it! Fruit cake! They only had a bit left so I ate one slice and bought the rest to take home. Wonderful food, excellent service from a lovely friendly staff, lots of delightful things in the shop, all in a very pretty village with the river (and lots of ducks!!) with some super walks close by. Cheap parking in the village car park and free parking in the drive beside the cafe. Don't ever miss it! Puddleducks Tearoom is the best ever!!
We had called in as passing at around 3pm, not sure of opening/serving times etc, they were open and very busy!
This is a simple cafe, that serves simple food, but it is absolutely delightful.
The food was wonderful. Home cooked, tasty and the pudding was to die for. Exactly what we wanted and a rare find in the world of mass produced, faffy, or processed food. We ordered the cheese & onion pie, the pulled pork and then the crumble and ice cream. Every last mouthful was delicious and we would certainly recommend this place.
The staff were helpful, friendly and the food scrummy. Make sure you stop here and avoid all the bigger establishments if you want real food. Just wonderful!!
Cycled to Puddleducks Tea Room one cold morning and was greeted by a warm fire, a fantastic cup of coffee and welcoming owners. Returned in the afternoon with my family as the tea room is at the start of a great tarmac bridleway. My boys aged 2, 5 and 13 all thought the food was fantastic and the prices offered great value. I would recommend to cyclists and families, very welcoming cafe.
We had a lovely home made chocolate fudge cake the cakes was too hard to decide between so we brought some home. Well stocked shop with some lovely gifts and essential duck food and fishing nets lovely friendly people would recommend and will be going again
Cycling into the Trough of Bowland? This cafe is a must, kitted out for cyclists, great sausage butty and free tin foil for my freezing feet on the long ride home. Call in people, great spot.
Have been there today Friday 30th June 17......, wonderful. Food and staff great, def a place i will come back to visit in the future.
Excellent tea room. Friendly staff and good facilities. Food is home cooked and could not be better and meals are a good price. Will certainly be visiting again.
Always good food. Lovely salad. Somewhere a little bit special
I ate here today with my partner and it was lovely. We had the soup and sandwich deal which was really good value and delicious. The homemade soup in particular. The staff were really friendly, we sat there for ages and didn't feel rushed even though they were busy. The area is beautiful, great for walking. We will definitely be back soon!
The best toast sandwich I've ever had! Sausage and cheese on home made granary bread, delicious
Came for the first time last week & absolutely loved it. The food was excellent (particularly the scone ) and I was in my element feeding the ducks
Will be back ASAP!
Lovely food, beautiful setting and helpful staff
Lovely place to stop and eat. Great setting, lovely staff and very tasty food!!! We will be back I am sure.
What a lovely friendly tearoom. The service was fantastic and the food delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely visit again.
They fed and looked after me and my friend when all others turned us away. Brilliant place. 10/10
Wow! We stumbled across this absolute gem.Fantastic home cooked food " just" had soup and Sandwich but my word it was the best I've ever had. We will definitely be visiting again.
Went today for the first time....what a lovely welcoming atmosphere, all the food is homemade and absolutely delicious and lovely coffees too...cant wait to go back again, highly recommended :)
Nice little tea room with a small selection of good cakes, scones and light bites. The main attraction is the beautiful setting on the village green next to the bridge. They sell little bags of food for feeding the ducks too.
The indoor part of the café is small but in the better weather there is a kiosk outside where they serve too. There is a childrens play area about 2 minutes walk down the road.
For parking, if the free spaces next to the river are taken, you can pay to park in the car park about 3 minutes walk away.
After a leisurely stroll by the River Dunsop, my wife and I had a light lunch at Puddleducks Tea Room. We had the brie, cranberry and onion toastie, which I highly recommend. It did take a while to arrive, but well worth the wait. Very friendly staff and we ate at the table under the blue parasol in the picture, which couldn't have been much nearer the Centre of the UK! Didn't realise that there was free parking but the car park, with free toilets, was only a few minutes walk away and only cost £2 for 4 hours.
Delightful little tea room! Had read some bad reviews on here, but apparently under new management since three months ago (July 2023) and seems much better (e.g. china mugs, not just disposable cups; counter/service area inside, not the "shed" outside). Had a very nice vegan mocha cake which was excellent fuel for the walk in the beautiful countryside around Dunsop Bridge.
Very nice cafe, lovely little village staff are friendly and very welcoming the Kit-Kat milk shakes went down very well with the children worth a visit.
Such a warm welcome and friendly service. The flat white was excellent with a predominance of coffee to kick start my morning. This is not a posh coffee shop but a genuine local cafe catering for the needs of the many visitors to this beautiful place. They may serve on paper plates and cups but if you were running the local Post Office at the same time, you wouldn't want to spend all your time washing up. The home made cakes were a work of art and not to be missed.
We weren't allowed to leave without a supply of local tourist information and a suggested onward route.
A credit to the local community and well worth a visit.
Can't thank you enough for giving two weary cyclists a brew when you were actually closed today!!
My 1st ride for 3 weeks and I was flagging a bit, that tea definitely helped me!!!
We'll be back - when you are open next time !!!
But, again, THANK YOU.
XxX
Super little cafe in the perfect place at the start or end of a great selection of walks, or as a stop off if touring by car. Beautiful spot opposite the river with outside seating too. We have used it for many years and always love returning.
Lovely cafe /tea room.Very friendly and attentive service. Best cheese and ham toastie I have had for a long time. Cakes for afternoon tea excellent. Kind of place I want to come back to....
Me and my friends came here while on a trip to Ribble Valley. The food is quite pricey, but not too pricey. I ordered a sausage butty, a coffee and walnut cake and a diet coke, all cost £10.30. It was quite a decent price, but the butty was more on the expensive side.
All the pessimistic things aside, this place has stunning views. The food is really good, and the workers are really nice people! Quite surprisingly, for a traditional English village in the middle of nowhere, they take card!
I would most definitely go again if I was to come back to Dunsop Bridge!
I stopped through while cycling and had the most wonderful welcome from this cafe! The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the service was incredible. Thank you for such a pleasant stop!
