First visit to this place, location very good, actually in the same square as the market, staff very helpful, unlike many places, the menu is extensive, including takeout, food very good, will definitely go again, one has to recognise that quality is not cheap, yet in this case it is worth it.
Lovely food, great service. Whilst I wouldn't describe the prices as cheap, it is quite reasonable for the portions & compared to the competition in the town.
I appreciated the fact that they seemed to have a separate 'dog friendly' area. I don't like dogs & wouldn't normally choose to dine somewhere that allows them - but I do understand that many people do and businesses have to cater for everyone - I think Blueberries got the balance absolutely right with their policy.
It's the best café I have experienced in this town, I'm looking forward to visiting again and am happy to recommend.
Parking is an issue in the town generally (not a fault of the café), I visited with a family member who is a blue badge holder so we were okay - but you may have to be creative, especially on market days.
Thanks to everyone at Blueberries for a nice brunch experience.

BREAKFAST REVIEW:
Blueberries Cafe Clitheroe
New Market Street, Clitheroe
I must have walked past Blueberries Cafe hundreds of times while working but today was my day off and as I was in the area, I took the opportunity to give them a try.
Blueberries' choice of full English breakfasts was simple enough - real or vegetarian. No prizes for guessing my choice. Everything I would usually want was included so I ordered the breakfast along with a pot of tea. As ever I asked them to hold the egg and was offered a hashbrown as a replacement, which I declined. I opted instead for an extra piece of toast.
The pot of tea came first and it was a lovely brew. The pot was big enough to get two decent size cuppa's out of it.
The breakfast arrived shortly after and I was offered a choice of red or brown sauce, which then came in a small pot complete with a little teaspoon.
The toast was sliced white - I could have opted for brown when ordering, and it came with a small foil wrapped pat of butter.
I was glad I had chosen an extra round of toast as the breakfast only included a single slice.
The breakfast itself looked great, all neatly arranged on heated plate and not a spot of grease anywhere.
I could tell at first glance the black pudding was from Alpes The Butchers by its shape, unsuprisingly it was delicious. It also gave me confidence that the rest of the ingredients would be of similar quality.
The sausages were from Farnsworths Fresh Foods so obviously no complaints there either they were delicious.
The bacon was good quality but for me could have been sliced thicker. The tomato was a nicely grilled half....grrr where's my other half. The mushrooms were well cooked and tasty. I think the beans were probably Heinz.
The waitress was really friendly and the whole place had a really nice relaxed atmosphere.
In summary it was a very nice breakfast, I would have preferred thicker bacon, the other half of the grilled 🍅 tomato and maybe a second slice of toast as standard. However I would definitely recommend a breakfast at Blueberries Cafe. Good quality food prepared well in a friendly setting.
Amazing cafe. Great staff, food, location and service. Right by Clitheroe market. I would highly recommend. The family and I had a lovely time here for lunch.
Lovely food, we ordered homemade cheese and onion pie with proper mash and beans. It was a good size portion and absolutely scrumptious! Homemade burger was ordered too again homemade, really tasty not your run of the mill processed burger. Chicken gougons were aslo homemade with chuck chips, coleslaw and salad. The homemade cakes looked delicious but we just couldn't fit one in. We will be returning at some point for coffee and cake 😋
Lovely place fit 10 of us in at short notice the food was amazing. The service excellent the lady’s were really nice. I would recommend it highly
It was in incredibly run and welcoming place.
The fact it’s very busy says it all.
Lovely food and staff - would thoroughly recommend .
We also took away some meals for our dinner which were absolutely delicious.
Thank you!
Great place to meet with friends for a relaxing lunch and dog friendly. They even gave out 2 Pomeranian girls complementary cucumber as we had omitted to take them a snack. They love cucumber.
Great food and fantastic staff definitely recommend
Nice place. Everyone working hard. Refreshing tea for two. £4.40 drink in. Pay at counter. Served at table. All clean. Been before, will go again when in Clitheroe.
UPDATE FEB 2021: This wonderful little cafe has taken the Covid bull by the horns, and is now open as a takeaway. It's got a fully Covid secure approach to access, including distancing, limited numbers at the cafe counter (no seating or waiting), and sanitiser freely available. There is still a very good menu including many favourites. See my photos for a menu shot and opening times.
ORIGINAL: A market cafe, I assume originally for traders, but clean, bright and welcoming and used by many visitors and locals, particularly people ‘people of a certain age’.
The menu is basic food, but wide ranging and cheap, and there’s a lovely selection of cakes in the cabinet if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth. There’s a ramp most of the way to the door, but one last step over the threshold, if you’re a wheelchair user, but ask for their portable ramp.
They are friendly and willing to adapt what’s on the menu - my scrambled egg, tomatoes and mushrooms is not a menu item but they happily do it.
We loved Blueberries. The food was tasty and arrived quickly. The soup I had was delicious. The cake selection is amazing and I loved my apple and raspberry crumble. Decent (but not cheap) prices and a clean and tidy place to sit. You can tell this place is good as it was constantly busy whilst we were there. I highly recommend it.
Excellent food and drinks and freindly staff reasonable prices too
Worth it!
Freshly made breakfast, fantastic coffe (they have plant based milk too) and friendly staff all for the fair price
Great cafe ..cheap and lovely cooked food , reasonably priced too
Absolutely amazing Welsh rarebit. Fantastic food and staff . Super homemade menu . Great experience. Can’t wait to return 👍
We called in one morning fairly early and purchased two sausage teacakes and although tasted good it was more bread than filling, the coffee was also good. However when we returned for lunch some four to five hours later the cafe was packed and when we found the only empty table we also found the reserved card hidden by the menu. Needless to say we made a hasty exit and were forced to look elsewhere for lunch which was inconvenient but we managed to find a friendly pub serving delicious lunches, £8.65 for two courses which was a tremendous find.
Fab little eatery next to the Clitheroe market. The staff were extremely helpful as I was with my mum and granddaughter. They ensured we had everything we needed. Fab menu choice, tasty food, and bustling atmosphere. It's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area 😊
What a delightful cafe..set next to a small market in Clitheroe. All homemade cooking, lots of choice could see all different foods coming out from the kitchen which all looked very delicious. Lovely helpful staff fronted by Julie who was very organised as very busy. Reasonable prices even had a take home service..The cheese & onion pie, homemade chips & peas was yummy...We will be back.
