went here for our family Father's Day meal. Had such a good time, the staff are absolutely great and very accommodating for 6 of us and one fussy girlie plus small baby. Personal service and very tasty food on offer too. Highly recommended

What a fantastic place to eat, the happy atmosphere and people welcome you from the second you walk in. The bar staff are friendly and work hard at keeping the drinks flowing, the food (yummy) the finest roast I can honestly say we have eaten (excluding the wife's of course) it's was cooked to perfection, the roasties were awesome the size was HUGE well worth the money and plenty of gravy :-) Two very happy customers and we will be back!!!

I not much of a pub bloke I don't relly drink. But I love wondering up to the six bells to have a bite to eat a shandy. Lived in cliffe nearly two years and it's a great way of meeting local people. Jake is a brilliant guy and Kelly works so hard in making it a great place to visit.

Top pub and recent renovation now makes the layout and appearance highly impressive. I was fortunate enough to arrive during 'happy hour' on Thursday and enjoyed my first couple of pints of real ale at £2 each! I then ate a superb steak and ale pie, served with mash and veg. Allow for a bit longer waiting time than other venues, e.g. chains, as I believe the pie was freshly hand-made. I will certainly be going back to the Six Bells before too long!

We stayed here for 1 night to attend a wedding at Cooling Castle. The manager is fantastic and drove us to the wedding venue and collected us at a time we chose, which was brilliant. The room was huge and very clean. The only downside was that the mattress was very uncomfortable, and we hardly slept as you could feel the other person turning over in their sleep and every movement woke us. The breakfast was amazing, but sadly, the smell of all the cleaning products while trying to eat wasn't appreciated as I felt like at times I was eating bleach as smell was so strong. But these things didn't make much of a difference, just an observation and hopefully something for them to consider. The checkout is very early at 9.30 am, and breakfast is from 9 am on the Sunday.. not very convenient after a wedding, and not being able to go back to your room after breakfast is also a hassle but fully understandable as guests want earlier check-ins to attend weddings. but it's still a shame that breakfast is earlier to accommodate the earlier check out. Overall, I would stay again.

Great find in a quiet rural village. Rooms were clean & provided towels, tea etc 5 mins from Cooling Castle Barn wedding venue - really should be on their recommended accommodation list. Welcoming friendly staff & great breakfast. Car park available. They offer a shuttle service to Cooling Castle if booked in advance.

This Saturday just gone (09/09/23) myself and hubby were at a Family party in Cliffe . So we booked a room at this lovely pub/hotel direct from the website which was really easy. When we arrived to check in we were met with lovely smiles and given all the info we needed for our one night stay. The room was very spacious and lots of cupboard space .A Good size tv perfectly positioned for watching in bed . With a large Fan cooling the room . The bathroom was also spacious with a lovely corner bath and a great shower . The bed was extremely comfy. After a good nights sleep we filled our bellies with an amazing Full English. The Menu also had the option to pick and choose what items you would like to be included in the breakfast . Everything was cooked from fresh accompanied by fresh uncut bread which we had toasted . We enjoyed our stay and will probably come back for maybe longer next time . :-)

Went for the last Sunday roast of the year and we were not disappointed, the roast potatoes were delicious crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle, with fresh vegetables and succulent lamb shank cooked to perfection, yorkshire puddings also rising to the occasion and topped of with lashings of mint gravy, delicious and well done to the chef.

What a gem of a place, literally just got home from a night's stay as we had a wedding in cooling Castle, from the moment you step inside the owners are fantastic, welcoming and like a bit of banter. Rooms are good and spacious perfect for a night or 2's stay. Breakfast included in price is plentiful and tasty locally produced and a good choice. Bonus point, the owner takes you and picks you up if you have an event in cooling Castle also included in price. We booked a roast dinner which was so lovely and homemade, proper roasties and tasty veg and choice of meats very reasonably priced. You just can't go wrong with the six bells for the price we paid 👍👍👍

Just passing through for NYE. Staff were very friendly. Was nice to see local families in there as well. The food was great. Warning: the loaded fries were a huge portion I was gobsmacked when they came out. They were really tasty. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
