A fabulous cosy place. Great fresh tasty food and drinks. I had the lamb dinner which was perfectly cooked. And really loved the dessert, which was a sweet and zingy mandarin and orange cheesecake. The staff are wonderful and so friendly, and they are super attentive and caring. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

We took our Grandson for lunch on a very hot September day and experienced a lovely and unusual setting. Seated in the first class section of a vintage railway carriage with a cool breeze flowing through, I could have stepped back in time and sat there very comfortably all day with a book, however, my Grandson was hungry so we ordered lunch from an appetising reasonably priced menu, when our choices arrived we weren’t disappointed ! The food was excellent! Staff were very friendly and service was very good. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Very nice, staff are friendly and the train carriage brings back memories of train rides years ago.

Third time coming here in a couple of months and it's safe to say, it's our new favourite place. In fact, it's the only Sunday lunch my husband will eat that isn't cooked by myself... so win win for me and I've now got out of slaving away on more than one occasion! Great choice of meats, you can have one meat or mixed (which is huge!), plenty of sides/veg, Yorkshire puds to die for, plenty of condiments and plenty of gravy... which is great as my husband likes his swimming! The chap that took our order (pretty sure he runs the place) is so friendly, chatty and hospitable, we really wouldn't go anywhere else and highly recommend!

Literally a first class experience! We arranged to bring a group of 40 motorcyclists for coffee and pastries on a Saturday morning. The team at Carriages prepared everything perfectly, calling us a couple of days ahead to check details. When we arrived, the First Class railway coach (BR Mk1 Touring if you're interested) was reserved for us, with pots of tea & coffee and tasty snacks. Plus everyone their is so welcoming. A hidden gem!

A friend and I met here for a snack and chat. The menu is varied with gluten free options available and prices are reasonable. The seating is either inside in the actual carriages or the dining area adjoined to them plus there's an outdoor patio which can be used too. The food is freshly made to order and the cafe itself spotlessly clean. Staff are friendly and service was quick. It comes with the added bonus of being at the rear of the garden centre which has plenty of free parking.

Just had a fantastic Sunday roast beef. Came out super hot. Very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere aboard an old rail carriage. Will definitely come back. Roast potatoes were crispy outside and fluffy inside.Another seating area is available in main restaurant area.

Surprise lunch for my train mad husband on Monday 11th. My husband went for the Hunters Chicken which was very nice. Wish I could say the same about my Gammon steak - sadly it was extremely chewy. The service was lacking a little as the young girl never asked us if we required any sauces and no one checked on us after the food was served (ask if the food was ok) The train carriage was lovely and in very good condition inside, sadly the outside lacked the same love and attention. We may return one day.
