Steels is one of the best fish & chip restaurants in the country (in my opinion). But they also serve a full menu with items like pie, lasagna and salads - there is something for everyone! Main courses are served with tea, bread and butter included, but the restaurant is fully licensed if you fancy something a little stronger! We always choose fish and chips, it’s available in different sizes to suit every appetite and is always good!

Excellent fish and chips. Nice soft batter and fresh fish. Small portion was plenty enough. Bread and butter and a pot of tea included in the week day dinner time special, and a pudding!

Haven't been here for years but still excellent standard, was seated promptly and staff very pleasant. Had Skate, chips and mushy peas and of course the obligatory bread and butter and hot drink in the price. Very good quality and cooked to perfection. . No Cod on the menu as per Grimsby and Cleethorpes preferences which is good. Cod yuk full of worms and inferior taste to Haddock.

Fish & chips are amazing, I have had plenty of people recommend Steels and I'm glad me and the kids went. They had small Haddock & Chips and I had the Medium, I couldn't finish it but was very satisfied! The staff was really nice and service was great!

A lovely traditional and long established fish and chips restaurant. Close to the seafront with free 2 hour parking close by. Service is very friendly and welcoming. Fish and chips are excellent. The restaurant has a traditional feel to it yet is spotlessly clean and well decorated. All meals come with bread and butter plus a large pot of tea and top up boiling water. Very highly recommended.

What a great find. When we walked in we were asked if we had booked a table as quite busy. We hadn't but 1 was spare downstairs or we could have gone up. I must say there was a constant stream of people walking in. Went in for fish dinner, ordered medium haddock & chips which came with drinks & bread & butter, £12-75. When it came it was like a whale, asked waitress if she had brought us wrong order, she assured us she hadn't. It was cooked to order, was hot and was delicious. Couple on table at side of us chose the special offer and ordered small fish & chips with choice of a pudding, this also had drinks, bread and butter included. Their fish was not very much the same as ours and the offer was exceptional value, £12-99. Think that will be our order next time we are in Cleethorpes. Cannot praise this place enough and far exceeds the popular place on the pier in our opinion.

Great find, second time we have been here. We have tried the big name on the sea front and it isn’t a patch on Steeles. Attentive waitresses and large portions, my only criticism is I prefer my fish cooked without the skin on but that is personal preference. Portions are large, food well cooked and efficient service as well.

Classic fish and chips. Every time we go it’s always bustling, I’d recommend booking. Food is served fast, hot and the servers are super friendly. The fish and chips are crispy, not greasy at all and full of flavour. Affordable too with a meal, tea and bread and butter for about £10.

Like Betty’s but for fish and chips. Traditional style corner house restaurant serving fish and chips with bread butter and tea. ( it also has a very varied menu, not just fish, so choice is wide). Does offer gluten free. Even the background music was 60,s. Love it. Steps to get in main entrance.
