We were looking for a traditional English pub, with good food and friendly atmosphere.
The Rose & Crown delivered on them all!
They have a great selection of cask ales, which frequently rotate.
The food menu is extensive and we all loved them.
Weβre going back, no question.
Gorgeous pub. Excellent menu, with a large number of vegetarian options. Good, honest , good value pub grub. Nice selection of cask ales in very good condition. Service absolutely outstanding, and dog friendly as well! Cannot recommend highly enough!
Good food and great beer in a friendly, cosy pub.
With the cost of living crisis the range of real ale and food has diminished as it has in many places but the quality hasn't.
Update: The range of food and ale is now back to normal, well worth a visit.
Called for lunch. It was early so pub was faily quiet. Warm greeting from the staff. Nice surroundings. Ordered soup which was hot and very tasty with a bread roll. Main meal I had chicken and ham pie with fresh vegetables. Lovely meal and well presented. Would highly recommend
Very good lunch. Chunky chips and large portions. Would love to go back for dinner.
Update: Went back for an early dinner with the family. Still excellent. Also dog friendly!
Absolutely superb as always. Booked s table of 7 for Boxing Day and it was all excellent. Friendly professional staff and the food was excellent. We have been here many times and it's always great. They also have a fantastic choice of real ales.

Lovely selection of beer and ales. Nice cosy atmosphere. Haven't tried the food but I've heard it's very good.
We visited on the 22nd May, social distancing was maintained, good service from staff! They was short staffed so longer waiting times but customer service was great despite this, friendly staff and the food! Wow! Very tasty! Will definitely be back
Been going a while and without doubt the hidden jewel of the area if not west Yorkshire . Can't tell you what to eat it's all great . If I could tear myself away from the beer we would be eating all the time there . The specials are the same ...could eat them all πππππππ
Friendly staff, cosy pub with big portions. Food very down to earth. Although tables were spaced out, too many visitors wondering around pub without masks on. Ditto staff too.
Excellent value for money and friendly staff. Craft brewery with some liquid gold, you can't beat that.
Been here a few times not just drinks but food to and it's fantastic high end food and really good ales I highly recommend given this a go
