Polite and friendly staff, escorted us to our booked table. Excellent menu choices and the quality of the food was outstanding, well kept cask ale, highly recommended.
This was my first visit here after reading many wonderful reviews & recommendations from friends & colleagues.
We booked in advance as it gets really busy. We arrived were seated quickly & our drinks order taken. The menu is vast & they had 2 amazing specials board so lots of choice to suit all tastes.
The food followed & wow was we impressed. We both had the souffle to start, this was very impressive & tasted amazing. For mains I had the chicken stuffed with choritzo wrapped in parma ham served in a lovely red pepper sauce, served with chips & my friend had the venison he said it was totally amazing.
Highly recommend here, lovely atmosphere lovely staff will definately be back again soon 10 /10
We were spoilt for a large choice of variety of food. Food is 9.5/10. You can only get better meals only in food specific places but then you don't get this huge variety. If you want to please everyone in your family or your friends then this is the right place. Book by phone in advance. The staff is professional. Portions are very large. 100% recommend
We had an excellent meal, the seafood platter was to die for and the venison loin cooked to perfection. We will definitely make this our 'go to' restaurant.
Hard to decide on 4 or 5 stars for this place, however decided on 4... Location is in a gorgeous little village, quite a way off the main road to Gainsborough, not a place you will pass, you have to know its there, and you could easily drive past so keep your eyes peeled!
Food is expensive but kinda worth it; tasted good and was well presented. We had mussels, calamari and mushrooms on toast to start, no complaints, all lovely. For main we had rack of spring lamb, calves liver and the seafood mixed grill. The lamb although tasted good and was nice and pink, I think the fat could have done with more rendering to crisp it up a bit. I found the calves liver dish a tad rich and a bit too salty, but that could just be me.. The best dish was the seafood mixed grill, lots of meaty pieces of fish and the price wasn't too bad either, definitely the best value.
Service was excellent; friendly and just attentive enough.
Wonderful choice of food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely dine there again.👍👍
Love this place, fantastic food and service. Haven't stayed over so haven't rated the accommodation but hoping to change that soon!
The food and service never disappoints here. The selection on the menu boards are emense. On our last visit, we had chateaubriand, it was amazing and came with all the usual extras. If you're looking for somewhere to eat, this is a must.... you'll never be disappointed.
Thank you

Amazing food in a great restaurant. The rooms are incredible and Rachel and Jonathan could not do enough to look after my colleague who stayed for a few nights.
First time trying this pub, it was amazing the inside is beautiful the staff helpful and really nice. The food choice is spectacular and the food looks and tastes out of this world. It certainly isn't a cheap night out, but with food of this calibre I really wouldn't expect anything less. Really is worth a visit if u want food that is just that bit more specialised.
beautiful up market village pub with rooms. Extensive blackboard menus with daily specials. one of our favourite restaurants
The best food I have ever eaten. And a beautiful place. Highly recommended..
Everything was superb.
Staff were attentive, friendly and professional without being intrusive which is lovely.
All decked for Christmas which added to the lovely ambience
We had lobster thermador and monk fish.
Absolutely cooked to perfection and beautiful flavours and accompaniments.
The bathroom was beautifully set up and clean.
We had a lovely evening.
Extensive menus but mostly not my choices. Very expensive too. Fish & chips off the lunch menu was nice but £11 with the tiniest portion of mushy peas I've ever seen. Desert was lovely but £7 for again a tiny portion of cheesecake/cream. I came away still feeling hungry, first time ever for me & I don't usually eat much.
1st visit under the new management, well modernised pub, with a good selection of wines and spirits, staff were pleasant and efficient. The menu is in 2 parts the standard varied menu in the form of a table menu and a much more varied chalk board menu, we had the Pork, beef cheek, mussels and Sea bass, all the food was cooked to perfection with good portions, unfortunately too full to try the desserts. This is definitely an “in” place to eat the food, atmosphere and service deserves a good 8 or 9 out of 10, booking essential £165 for 4
We went to the pub specifically for the nice food and not for the staff/owners' jolly attitude or lack of it. Having said that, the older waitress is always polite (even from the days at the Whitehouses). The food was as fantastic as always. Be prepared to ignore the long faces and concentrate on the food. Sadly, the lack of a welcome smile loses them one star.
Went for a meal at the weekend. The food is amazing, with the staff providing excellent customer service. The atmosphere was very comfortable, with plenty of room to navigate around. The wine was superb! The friends who I took are typically fussy, but they enjoyed every minute. Next time I will be staying in one of their rooms, which I’ve heard are also amazing. Overall, I could not recommend this restaurant more.
Amazing food , friendly family that run it very well. Seafood and fish is truly beautiful. Go you will love it
We absolutely love this place. The food is incredible and the staff cannot do enough for you. Portion size is perfect. I would go every day if I could. I want to try everything
