We go to the ship all the time it is the only restaurant where you know you are going to get great food never disappointed the food is excellent and they always cater well for my grandchildren. I always recommend to my friends who have gone and enjoyed the food��
9 of us, Saturday night for a family birthday meal. Waitress lovely and friendly, food amazing, portion size amazing, and when I asked for my steak to be well done/burnt it was but absolutely delicious and still tender and not hard or chewy. Everyone totally enjoyed there food, the service and the whole atmosphere. Price brilliant too. Will most definitely be eating here again. A true little gem in clacton. We went on what the reviews said and was not disappointed. Friendly staff very accommodating to say we went in on the off chance. A lovely place and family friendly. Plenty of choice from the menu and specials boards something for everyone. Definitely worth the trip. The steaks we had were cooked to perfection as ordered and the other food was just as nice, 100% recommend a must visit if your in the clacton and nearby area. Thank you guys for a pleasant dining experience.
It's a super pub-excellent beers and great service.The food is good value and the staff are always friendly and helpful.I always enjoy their quiz nights and the real ale is well-kept too.The best pub in Great Clacton!

We went in here three times during our holiday and had lovely hot food on each occasion. I'd looked at reviews for a good Sunday lunch in clacton-on-sea. Reviews are spot on. If we're in the area again we'll be back. If you're on holiday you'll be made very welcome. I'd recommend booking if it's a Sunday though.

First visit yesterday lunchtime - and it won't be the last - what a great place :) We were 11 old friends - some hadn't seen each other for over 20 years - and the food was lovely (thank you) and so reasonably priced and the staff very friendly and welcoming :)
The ship inn is one of my old watering holes from 40years ago so I know it well. It's had a lot of different people running over the years and I have all ways had good friendly service from the bar staff. It has alot of history and is one of Clacton-on-Sea special buildings with it being linked to smuggling in the horse and carriage days erea. Well worth a visit if you in the great Clacton area
Just recently found this gem, on recommendation from friends. Staff, food and and hospitality excellent. Been told Wednesdays they do fantastic dressed crab and Fridays, excellent fish and chips. All at a reasonable, fair price. Will be a regular from now.

We are a family of six and popped in to watch the football on Sunday 7th August. We were in the area on holiday. Such a warm and welcoming place. Friendly staff and regulars. Lovely little dog. And the food is the best roast dinner I've ever had. Thank you for our pleasant afternoon. Well done all

Excellent value Sunday roasts,2 for £12. You can add a starter or dessert for £1.95. The food is good and so is the service. We will be back.

The Ship Great Clacton…
I have came here on a few occasions with the work lot. I absolutely love this pub/restaurant as the grub is on point, the staff are very friendly and catering and the atmosphere is very warming too! Lots of great memories here and no doubt many more to come!
Called in whilst on holiday. Choose the ship because they allowed dogs. I had a portion of the best fish and chips I've ever had. My wife had a jacket pot. Welcoming friendly and excellent service. Reasonable price. Would definitely return
Pleasant and inviting dog friendly pub. Good atmosphere and fair priced drinks. Free parking at the rear and a lovely private garden/terrace area. Would definitely visit again!
Only went in for a darts night but the staff were friendly and there was a nice atmosphere. Had burger and chips for food. The chips were lovely but the burgers were a bit over cooked.

The ship is great and would recommend it I had grilled skate wing and was the best I have had in along time my wife had the salmon and looks good. I will be going back soon with friends to try swordfish steak. Prices are more than reasonable and excellent service.
First time in Ship since the re-opening. Well laid out beer garden, nice bar and restaurant area with extensive menu and specials board. Comfortable seating, polite staff, tasty fresh food with reasonable prices.
Lovely welcoming restaurant. Brilliant service and fantastic meals ...vast menu and a specials board. Afternoon tea is also available which we look forward to having another time. Reasonable prices for the quality of the meals well worth a visit. I would book to reserve a table.

Wonderful evening with friends for a long overdue catchup. Staff were friendly and welcoming which is what you want when coming into a pub for drinks. We had stopped using The Ship because if the rude attitude of the previous owner. The new crew are great, keep up the good work and we will definitely be back.
Proper pub food. Ham eggs and chips. Home cooked ham,.local eggs and well cooked chunky chils. Meals in basket...great old fashioned but good. Sandwiches just right.
