Was our first time in Flags cafe today and hit the spot perfectly after a windy walk along the beach. Hubby had scrambled egg and brown toast with tea and It was served exactly to his liking. I had jacket spud with cheese and cooked onion with a side salad and homemade coleslaw. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, would definitely return and bring my family along for lunch. Hidden gem x

It is a lovely place, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The coffee is one of the best I've had in a long time. I had a scone which was beautiful and I could hear people complimenting their food they ordered. Sadly I could not stay longer as I had to be at a baptism a few minutes later. I suggest people DO NOT walk passed this place without stopping off. Thanks to the staff there. My coffee lasted until I got to the baptism and it was still as hot as when I first got it.

Great location, right on the seafront of Holland on Sea. They don't have toilets 🚻 but there are some public toilets around 150m away. The cafe was very busy when we went at lunchtime but given its summer holidays & the weather was good it's to be expected. There is a good selection of food to choose from & they also serve alcohol. There is also a separate counter for ice creams. All the tables are outside but there are a few under a gazebo. We didn't wait too long for food but you have a lovely view while waiting. Hubby has day breakfast that was £6.45 which consisted of sausages, egg, bacon, toast and a choice of beans or tomatoes. I think for the price it should've included both. I had ham, egg & chips with a choice of peas or beans. The ham was a bit disappointing as not thick carvery type ham that you usually get when you have this meal. The chips were very tasty and the egg was cooked how I like it with a runny yolk. We would definitely visit again as they had a lovely selection of hand made cakes which we didn't try today which included a GF option. There are also options for vegetarian food,

Visited for the first time yesterday and I have nothing negative to say. Plenty of outside seating and the cafe is right next to a fantastic beach. And the most impressive thing was that a sausage, egg and bacon sandwich, BLT sandwich and a tuna mayo and sweetcorn sandwich in thick cut bread with 3 drinks and a side order of chips was under £25. Normally for that sort of money I would expect cheaper quality ingredients but that was certainly not the case. The lady that dealt with us who I believe may have been the owner was a delight as well considering how busy the cafe was, even giving our JRT a free serving of doggy ice cream. Will definitely return!

My family live in Holland-on-Sea and we came to visit on a Saturday in the summer holidays. It was an unexpected warm sunny day and there was plenty of outside seating at Flags. The menu was varied and we all had amazing food. I had the ham egg and chips, others had jacket potato's, full English, fish and chips. Great service and lovely food. Will definitely come back when I'm visiting next. Oh, and the kids had ice cream afterwards. Lovely views of the beach and sea.

We had a wet day out at the beach but the highlight was finding Flags Cafe nearby! There was a wide range of food including sandwiches, breakfast, cakes and snacks. There was also hot, cold and alcoholic drinks. We loved the fact there was a good range of vegan meals and cakes alongside the main menu. The cakes were delicious and we all enjoyed our lunches! Will definitely visit again when we are back in the area! Thanks guys!

This is the best beach cafe by a long shot. The food is delicious and there is always a variety of food as well as the usuals for a cafe.

Great cafe right on the sea front. Perfect coffees and teas, wines beers and spirits, plus amazing selection of hot food and ice creams....plus the all important seaside essentials.... Inflatables, buckets and spades etc plus the all important loan of a hammer for the wind breakers. I would just recommend they keep first aid bits there for the jellyfish sting or the cut from rocks.

It was so nice to visit Flags after a long stroll on the promenade. Coffee and a bacon roll. They do a large variety of homemade cakes that are irresistible. You can even get a nice beer irresistible bottle of wine and sit in the sun. It's worth a visit.

Came across this lovely cafe on our phone app as I was getting very shaky and needed to eat. What a lovely experience and lovely all day breakfast. Have recommended to family and friends.

Loved it close to the sea nearlly on the beach and the best Roll I've had in my life it was huge with (the lady said 1.1/2 tins of tuna in it. It was so full I had to use a spoon to eat the filling until I could eat it properly it was lovely. Very generous food and the staff called THE PINK LADIES. Our friends use them all the time. EXCELLANT CAFE.

Had brunch here. It took awhile for our food to arrive (45 minutes) which is quite a long time to wait at a cafe, however the food was delish! I had the Jacket potato with cheese and mushrooms and side salad, he had a cooked breakfast. The coffee was good and the staff are very nice. Priced well. It's a bit of a walk up the coast from Clacton to Holland, but personally, I think worth it.
