We’re on our “Mini Moon” having got married earlier in the week. Some locals we met at another pub recommended we try this place for food. They said it was excellent but quiet. We were greeted with friendly staff who recommended we try the molten burger. We soon got chatting to the chef, Giles, who took care of us and presented the best burgers we’ve ever had. The food did not disappoint. We cannot understand why this place was quiet. We’re guessing it’s because it’s a little bit out of the main hub of the town centre and needs more exposure. Give it a go. You won’t be disappointed! Thanks to the staff and chefs for taking care of us. We’ll be back for Sunday dinner! (We didn’t rate the rooms as we weren’t staying here).

Only in town for the day (U18 Rugby tour) and I hardly ever leave reviews, but this place was so good I was compelled to say something. Sam was really busy and knew his stuff but more importantly really engaged! Great afternoon thanks!

Just had a fabulous Sunday lunch here, best I've had in a long time. Superb flavours and plenty of proper, rich gravy. The staff deserve a special mention too, all super-friendly and helpful. Top marks all round.

Food was great, my dad and my mom said the beer and wine were great! My blackjack burger was delicious and the man was very nice (he even said he liked my shirt.) In the end I leave everything with five stars because the service was great (super nice waiters) The location was in a nice little street and the pub we were in for the food was pretty!

Best Sunday Roast In Town 🧑‍🍳. We popped in here on the spur of the moment and Wow I’m so glad we did. We had an absolutely amazing Sunday Roast “Beef” it was cooked to perfection and accompanied by the best Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever seen or eaten with very nice veg and delicious gravy sauce. Service was first class too. Thankyou very much.

Google shows this to be a hotel. Could be, but all we saw was a pub with a kitchen and we were hungry. Thursday nights are hamburger nights. OMG! We are so glad that we came in at the right time. The burgers were huge and delicious. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Traveler or local, this is a good place for a meal.

Loved the company of Giles, Lilly and Olie ... Beautiful ambience. A shame for the pub to be so quiet yet having such a lovely character. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely stunning food! First time we have been with the new owners and it was an absolute delight. All the staff were friendly and attentive. It was Sunday so the whole table (minus the child) had the nut roast. One of the best roasts I have ever eaten hands down. A few greedy people braved dessert and had the crumble which was also excellent. I will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu.

An excellent afternoon was spent at this pub. We had the Sunday roast and the food was super tasty. Couldn't fault anything. The dessert order was a bit slow to order and deliver, but we were in no rush. Great value for money and super friendly service. Highly recommend.

Went for a works outing with 9 of us, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. We will be back again soon, the new owners have done a great job.
