Stopped in Cirencester for a couple of days, the Crown was one of the first pubs we visited with friends and a couple of dogs, very friendly welcome, dogs where offered their own water bowls and biscuits, liked the place so much we stayed for food and revisited over a couple of days. The manageress even found us a taxi that would take us back to the camp site with the dogs. I can highly recommend a visit to the crown
We visited at about 8.30 pm on bank holiday monday and found friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere and great food. Good selection of dishes on menu and we really enjoyed our meals of ham, egg and chips and the Caribbean burger, really generous portions, freshly cooked and hot and good quality. Complements to the chef who was also delivering most of the food!
Had a fantastic pub lunch. Nice friendly staff, good service and food to die for. Well worth a visit or more. Keep up the good work
Friendly staff, traditional pub atmosphere and a great way to enjoy a pint.

Great food and atmosphere 👍
Never had anything bad to say about this place, the food has always been top notch!
Brilliant place to drink and the atmosphere and live acts are brilliant. I had an incident where I went to the toilet (as you do) and my pint was missing. They poured me another pint free of charge. It's nice to know of a pub that cares for their customers. They're a dying breed nowadays. Highly recommended.
A great venue , whether you want a few beers with mates (recommend the nachos)
A glass of wine with someone special beside the log fire (sunday roast menu is brilliant)
Or watching your favourite Rugger match on the big screen (with a bowl of the best chips ive ever tasted) .
Only popped in for a quick drink and we were greeted lovely by the young lady behind the bar who even came around and gave our dog a good fuss the only problem is that we could only stay for one
Great food and lots of choice. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and dogs are welcome.
Christmas meal here last night was fabulous. Service was great, food amazing and our gathering loved the whole evening. Thanks to the whole staff for giving us a brilliant night.
Great pub, fabulous atmosphere and brilliant hospitality by the owners! We didn't eat there but the food looked good and generous.
Best food in Cirencester! If you're looking for a great place with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere then head on over to The Crown!
Nice pub in the centre of town. Large dining area inside and pub garden. Dog friendly both inside and out but sat in the garden as a sunny day. Friendly staff and good service. Had soft drinks, burgers and onion rings - food really tasty, best onion rings I've had. Good price.
Good to find an old pub that still has character. Some modernisation inside, but Charles 2nd would probably still recognise it after he fled from this building in 1651, following the battle of Worcester.
Good selection of beer and food. Courtyard garden seating. Plenty of indeed seating. Friendly staff (one of whom said he had been coming here since he was three years old!).
Great pub, The staff were so helpful!
The main entrance is not wheelchair accessible, the bar staff could see our frustration and came to the rescue by suggesting that we use the rear entrance.
Once inside we weren't disappointed with the service and quality of the food. Thank you to all at the Crown!
Really good food portions for the price and really good friendly service. They allow dogs! Would 100% recommend! Good details on which foods contains which allergies.
It's a really nice pub, and to me the food is better than your usual pub offerings. Conveniently located, too.
The Crown menu is marked with allergens and there was lots of choice of items without gluten for me. The meals we had on two nights were excellent. Staff behind the bar were helpful and gave note to the kitchen of my need for gluten free food. All in all a great experience
What a lovely pub. The entrance belies a charismatic interior and courtyard. The staff were all brilliant and made our visit memorable. The provisions put in place to mitigate Covid were very efficient. Our meals were delicious and very good value. Thoroughly recommended.
Really nice pub in Cirencester. Excellent range of beers and wine etc. and staff. Did not have time for food but can say that the food offering looked excellent. Well worth a visit.
Good pub. Lots of choice in terms of food and drinks. This is in a great location in the centre of Cirencester, so worked extremely well for us looking for a light lunch. They have a great beer terrace out the back we were able to enjoy the sun in.
Posting a review a week after visiting. Honestly only had the one drink in here, so not really a definitive judgement but ; real ale fine (I offer the opinion Arkells ales have improved since I last drunk them pre covid), staff super friendly, food didn't eat so no judgement from me, what slightly let the place down was the interior which didn't seem to match the historic nature of the pub. It was ever so slightly bland. As if Arkells had given their interior designer a week off at the end of the last refurb contract. But I'd definitely drink in here again when back in Cirencester. Cheers Matty x
Quality food and a welcoming atmosphere. Very accommodating to kids also, with a good menu and crayons for entertainment.
Brilliant food in a great location and dog friendly. This has just become my go to place in Cirencester, absolutely love it.
Found this pub after I had been wingwalking. Never been here before but it was really nice. Good food and managed to get 10 of us around the same table.
It was open and serving food which was just what we were looking for. Friendly staff. A simple menu but with reasonable choice. Food was lovely. Kronenbourg was £4.95 a pint. Main courses started at £10.95. Puddings were £5.95. My ice cream pudding was fabulous. Dogs welcomed.
Lovely little pub in the centre of cirencester. Food was very tasty and didn't take long at all to come out. We had the asparagus curry and a panini with chips. The place advertises live music and is dog friendly with outside seating round the back.
Visited twice over the weekend, one time with 4 people, the other with nine. Great food and service each time, lovely dog friendly pub
Stopped in again for a quick lunch while Christmas shopping. Great atmosphere, close to the square and Blackjack Street. Good food, ham, egg and chips this time. Look at those eggs :-)
Paid up front, which is unusual, meant we weren't able to leave a tip as it caught me off-guard and I never carry cash.
I'm writing this review approximately one week after our visit to Cirencester. We had a brief stay at an Air BnB in Bibury, a short distance away and came to Cirencester to visit the Saturday market and see what the village had to offer. Lunch became the issue and we found ourselves outside the Crown pub and decided to try it out.
The pub was quite full naturally at lunchtime and we were 4 adults and a baby but the staff managed to find us a cozy corner and provided a high chair for the the bairn. The libations were excellent and the food was superb. The Steak and Ale pie was the best I've ever sampled in my 73 years and from all accounts, the rest of our group were very happy with their choices.
The staff were all switched on and friendly and strived to make ours a pleasant visit. Top marks!
