Fantastic meals. (I had chicken tikka, better half the sunday roast, friends veggie curry was great). Beer and wine both top drawer. A fabulous, REAL local pub. Don’t miss out.

Returned to The Plough last night and we had a very tasty meal. Very pleasant staff looked after us well! Tasted the guest draft beer Neck Oil and wow lovely, very fresh and zesty. Would’ve stayed longer but too full with Cajun chicken wings followed by a hearty steak and ale pie and lush gravy 😋😋 Will return soon ☺️👌🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Worth checking opening hours and when food is available but do visit as the maze of rooms are interesting, the beer good, staff friendly and the landlord even drove us home - thank you

Yet again they surpass all expectation. The chefs special are excellent. Duck breast with seasonal veg and mash with a blueberry and wine sauce. Pheasant pie with mushroom and baby onions. Don't miss this place

Very cyclist friendly pub! Walked straight into two big pints of water to get hydrated and then had a lovely dinner at the pub watching England play. Food was really good and staff was super friendly and accommodating, best pub experience we have had in England. Highly recommended!

Lovely pub friendly staff excellent food. They even let us stay in the rear carpark in our motorhome perfect. We'll worth a visit and they also do cask ale.

Great pub with super friendly staff. Good beers and delicious food. Portions are large so make sure you go there hungry. They allow motorhome/camper van stay overs which is brill. We stayed 2 nights and walked along the canal into Chester for the day. Just over an hours lovely, peaceful traffic free walk.

We come here once a week for a drink (as we don’t live close) but have never had any food here until today! Food was delicious, piping hot, generous portions. Between us we had steak and ale pie, beef roast and children’s nuggets and chips, as well as starters and dessert! Everything was home made and as mentioned such generous portions! Staff as always were lovely, hospitable and friendly. We just wish we lived closer as it would definitely be our local! Even our puppy got a treat to enjoy whilst we were eating! We will be back ☺️

Great food and fantastic service. We arrived late as the kitchen was closing but they made an exception and let us eat. Food was fantastic, we both had the American Burger followed by Galaxy Ripple cheesecake. We cleared our plates then sat outside in the beer garden for a while. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are near Chester!
