We absolutely love The Ship. The Thai food is top quality and authentic. And absolutely delicious. Decent sized portions too. The staff are lovely and always warm, friendly and efficient. We always eat here when we visit Christchurch. Oh, they are dog friendly too. Absolutely love this place and cannot say enough nice things!!

A perfectly nice pub dining experience with friendly staff and a nice mix of traditional pub and Thai menu items. The service is friendly but not always attentive. The decor is cosy but the tables, on our visit, we’re a little sticky! The Thai food is good for a pub but not the standard you’d expect from a bespoke Thai place but the portions are huge - served as a set meal (eg with rice or noodles on the plate) which makes sharing more challenging. A good selection of beer and wine, plus rather unusually they stock both Coke and Pepsi!

A strange fusion of traditional pub and Thai restaurant, nicely fitted out, a couple of ales available, the tables in front of the bar are a mistake, by all means maximise your business's footprint, but this is a step too far.

Well… a couple of months ago we were refused for turning up 1 minute before cut off and for that, I should give 1 star. BUT… tonight was great from a superb staff to what has become one of the best dish I have ever had! The Japanese tuna ceviche is out of this world and I only wish they would do a ‘all you can eat’ version

Me and my husband went on the 8th July 2023 the food was fantastic! I had the chicken katsu curry and it was the best one I have had. Service was brilliant even when it got really busy Thank you

First time in The ship on the woks in Christchurch. My favourite was the crispy duck starter, it’s over £11 so a bit pricey for a starter and honestly could of fed two of us. The restaurant was packed in January so a good indicator of the food quality. Will return.

Great ambience. We sat in the window and listened to an awesome choice of music and drank some delicious wine. The menu and the looks amazing with generous size portions. The barman was very knowledgeable too. Will definitely go back.

Great dog friendly pub serving Thai and traditional pub classics. The Thai food we had was excellent. When we went there they were short staffed due to staff being delayed coming back from holiday but Sonny did a sterling job and was unflappable and worked so hard and efficiently whilst at the same time training the barman Will who was on his first day. Will also did incredibly well.

Great pub serving delicious Asian style food (as well as some classics if Asian isn't your thing). The service was good, with friendly staff and friendly patrons too. We will be back for sure (plenty more to sample).

Great Pan Thai food in the small but nicely done garden. The dog was welcome and some seating outside is covered. Bonus they had HSB on tap. The food pictures are the sharing plater and prawn crackers for 2.

First visit a month or so ago we had a drink, we sat outside in the little courtyard at the back of the pub, liked the atmosphere so returned for a meal. Not disappointed, our New Zealand waiter was very friendly and welcoming. Good choice of food including a specials board. Very cosy restaurant, candles on each table along with either fresh flowers or a beautiful table decoration made by a member of staff. Good selection of beers/lagers at the bar along with wine, gin etc. Couldn't fault the food, sensibly priced, highly recommend to anyone visiting the area, and we will return when next in Christchurch.

Went 11.30am plenty of room. Fast service £12.40 for a lager and Guinness. Sat inside for a portion of fish and the nicest chips ever. Outside seating at front and rear.

This is the 2nd time I’ve visited The Ship and have been pleasantly surprised on both visits. The choice of food that you are given is great. This ranges from pub classics, to Chinese, Thai and Japanese. You are spoilt for choice! Highly recommended and good value and a very friendly atmosphere.
